You have received excellent advice, and I agree....you need to tell your doc asap!  If you are thinking that sub is the answer...sadly, it isn't...as an infant will also w/d from that....... severely in a LOT of cases.

Be honest and straightfoward with your doc...no exaggerations, no lies.  Tell him/her everything about your addiction.  If the labor and delivery staff is prepared properly, your baby will have a big advantage.  Sitting back "hoping" it doesn't happen isn't the answer, no matter how scared you are.

Sure, you have to bear some responsibility in this and deal with any consequences...but trust me...they will be MUCH less severe if you do something NOW to protect your child.

BEST of luck to you and your baby.  I hope you are in touch with someone here...there are great, knowledgeable people....many who have been in your shoes.  This site is a great resource and great support system.  Don't turn your back on that b/c you are scared.

I just read what Sara wrote about you saying something earlier about using sub.PLEASE don't tell me you have introduced another drug into the mix without a doctors knowledge.Honey, you have to tell your doctor.Time is running out.You have to put your baby's well being first.I don't think any of us can guarantee what will happen if you tell your doctor now BUT I think we can all say with some degree of certainty that if you don't tell your doctor ASAP NOTHING good is going to come of that, and god forbid your baby suffer because you kept that information from the doctor and hospital. Are you really prepared to face those consequences? Can you handle that guilt? You have to tell your doctor, theres just no other way.PLEASE for the sake of your baby tell your doctor NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I commented on your other thread tonight about you using suboxone.  Does your doctor know you are taking this??  You need to tell them everything as this baby is going to be born real soon and the doctors and nurses need to know what they are dealing with.  DO it for your baby.......then i hope you get your life in order and can enjoy this precious little bundle..........sara

OMG! I so pray that you have talked to you dr..there was a baby born addicted here not long ago...You know what the wds feel like...can you imagine putting your tiny baby thru that...Also have you checked out what drugs will do to your unborn child? It is soooo unfair to this baby...Yes I may sound harsh...but someone need to light a fire under you...Get yourself healthy for your baby...get yourself clean so this baby has a chance to be born healthy..

I agree with Cathy,YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!  Your biggest concern at this minute shouldn't be will they find the drugs in your system but the danger your unborn child may be in currently and after delivery. The hospital NEEDS TO BE AWARE that your baby may go through w/ds so that they can be prepared.TELL YOUR DOCTOR ASAP,PLEASE for the sake of your baby.

hi. there are a couple of things to consider, and potentially hard choices to make. first and foremost is the well-being of yourself and your baby. if you are not ready to cease using, the state may eventually take custody and would be justified in doing so. however, if you are honest about making changes, and willing to do what it takes to stop, you will likely be given more assistance than condemnation. the help available to you will vary according to which state you reside in, but i know that in my area those who are pregnant and chemically dependent take priority over all other folks. above all, your doctors should be aware of all medications you are taking, as this information could become invaluable in a medical crisis before, during or after childbirth. hope this helps and best wishes,   gm
