DAY 32 CT OXYS, HUBBY STILL FEELS TERRIBLE?

Well everybody, just thought i'd post and let you know again, hubby is still feeling bad, not just bad, but real bad! He has not taking any xanax for 9 days now, and like i said above, today is day 32 without any meds, oxy's, roxy's, ms contin, yadda, yadda, yadda.  He is so frustrated as i have said b4, because if he could just get some reprieve. now, don't get me wrong, each day is a tad better, maybe then the day b4, at this point to be real honest with everybody, i dont know if he's just saying that to me, just so i dont loose hope, or if he's saying it to himself so he don't lose hope, but he is in no way, feeling "good", "ok", "clear head", nothing. he is doing everything that he did in the beginning, exercising, taking vitamins, aminos, hot baths, and he is just skitzy feeling still.  He will not go to the dr. as i have begged him too, but he just keeps saying, WHY, WHEN?? WHEN AM I GOING TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER?? He has no cravings for the meds at all, even though feeling this bad, you would think he would, but nope. SO, i just thought i would let everybody know, we are still here, as we have been on day 1, still moving forward, still trying to deal. I appreciate the support, and encouraging words! much love to all!  XXOOO

Oh My- You poor lady- you have been to hell and back with this. I would have vented all long frigging time ago.

I have to tell you something. I was asked how my mood was when I was coming down off the pills by people on this forum. Uh-hum- I said that I was okay at the time.... Now that I am looking back and and back to feeling pretty much normal. My hubby and I were discussing how much better I have been feeling and I have been in a pretty good mood most days- much more positive then I have been for a loooong time. My energy level is at an all time high (naturally for once) and we have been having a blast together! Then he said boy you were an absolute biatch when you were coming down! Now I have to admit I was probably not very nice to be around... but I really did not know that I was that bad... Uhum- He also said that I was very negative. I was under my docs care so there was not much more that I could do. I had to ride it out and I feel bad- but my hubby had to put up with me. I honestly am hardly ever crabby like that. Bottom line- drugs suck! :)

He needs to go to the damn doctor. I feel so bad for you.... You have been such a wonderful and strong person through this. You must really reallly really love him. I know all about stubborn, stubborn is my middle name. But seriously- I can't believe that he won't go by now. Even if it is just for peace of mind. I just wanna fly there and drag his *** cave woman style to the doctor!

your so funny! put it in his food, GREAT IDEA!!!  lol   i might just have to do that! Even though i think he suffers from depression anyway- so he may be ok with that, he has actually talked about suffering from depression and getting on some sort of anti-depressant.  idk, i am just at a loss, on how to help him, besides sticking my foot up his rear, ha! ha!  MAYBE TOMORROW WILL BE THE DAY, THE DAY HE ACTUALLY WILL BE ABLE TO SAY- "I FEEL GOOD TODAY, REAL GOOD"!!!!!!!!! KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!!! XXXOOOOOO

thanks for the quick responses! I am over it, i'm just being honest, I am all for helping him through this, & pushing through the days, being his maid, and listening to his moaning, & crying, and complaining, but i am over the yelling at me, "DO YOU F*****ING UNDERSTAND? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I'M TELLING YOU?? OVER IT! I am about ready to shove his nastiness right up his A**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) ha, now i feel better, thank you all- for allowing me to vent a little.  He is just frustrated, i realize, but damn- if your not going to do anything about it, like go to the DAMN DR. THAN WHAT MORE do you want from me????? He really feels like it's the zanax now, or well- maybe not so much now, but he did think that's why he isn't feeling better, or atlest like he feels he should. what is lexapro? is this an anti-depressant? he needs an anti-depressant BAD! How can i convince him to go to the dr? Will he FINALLY get sick of being sick & go? i'm ready to go for him! i WILL go for him, if they would let me!

i wanted to add that when i went c/t off of benzos it ws really bad...just a different feeling then opiates....But it lasted about 18 days....on the 13th day they put me on lexapro and i guess it got in my system and things got better..I am sure it might have lasted longer without the lexapro...BUT this is too long, and the problems now does not sound like w/d's....
maybe one of the great nurses we have here can help!

Sorry i haven't posted in a few. Hubby is still feeling bad, he says definately better than the beginning, every day is a little better., he is taking no xanax and hasn't know for 22 days. no other drugs like i said for whatever today is, 36 days?? He is taking lunesta at night. His question to you all, is - Am I going through xanax w/d's now?, still?  for sure the pain meds are out of his system right? is this the result of the zanax, and does it last usually this long for w/ds? yes he did stop ct, i have told him the warnings, the stroke, seizure, all of it, he wont see the dr. he just takes it day by day, and said he will even wake up at like 3am, & sit up & go, "ok, am i feeling better today"?  And like i said, much better than before, he no longer has the rls, at all. knock on wood, he just has this haziness, & blurred vision, which i know- sounds like bad- and you know, now that i have said that- he's going to the dr!! Screw this, this is crazy! messing around like this. he isnt feeling like he should feel, and at this point everybody has said by this day, he should feel alot better. usually by the time i get home from work, he's at his worst. Oh yeah, and he has like this issue with his eye now. looks like he got bit or something- it's all red & swollen, & itches REALLY BAD!! it looks terrible! How can one person be so stubborn, not to go to the dr!?? And believe it or not, he's a very smart man- but this isn't very smart of him! ugh, i'm sorry- i'm getting really frustrated!  And to sarah231, don't worry- my husband is i think an unusual case, he went ct off of oxy's, roxy's, ms contin, & then went ct directly after that- off of xanax!!! SO, I am sure you will be fine!! Keep hanging in there! You will have much support here! We are all here for you!

a lady friend of mine was almost 5 weeks removed from her xanax addiction and she had a stroke...i'm telling you this is nothing to mess around with...withdrawals from opiates do not lost this long, not even oxies, unless your taking methadone, i would worry about the xanax
32 days isnt enough to get over a benzo addiction....thats why its so dangerous...i dont know the severity of the addictioin in your case, but its something i would see a Dr about ASAP...the withdrawals are as dangerous if not more so than alcohol...
you should go to lostmarbles profile and take a look at some of the info in her profile

I am around three months and still have some rls and insomnia. I think it's the Xanax maybe?? You said he ran out right? Does this mean he went ct with that too? Not good...

A doc would be a good thing at this point. Just to get checked out to make sure that eveything is okay. I understand that he is being stubborn. (Gee I wonder why I understand that)??? LOL- I am horribly stubborn. Between you and the "stubborness" this must be why is is NOT using at this point.

I hope that he feels better soon... :) Keep us posted.

At 32 days there shoud be signs of significant improval...and you say he is better ...just not perfect yet or still suffering Wds intensely?  he may need to be checked  by his md,,,high dose of oxy but he should be feeling significantly better by now...is he taking the vitamins recommended in the thomas recipe and the amino acids recommeded by fladdict? found in the health pages to the right under DISCUSSION...he may need to be evaluated r an antidepessent,as often this is why we use to self medicate anxiety and depression..he is lucky o have u!

did he go cold turkey off the xanax???? if he did, this is the reason he has not gotten better..
benzos are to be tapered slowly off...i am on 1 mg of klonopin, my doctors plan for me to get off it is an up to 6 month taper (better safe than sorry she said)..because it can be dangerous...going cold turkery off xanax can be deadly, and no i am not trying to scare you, its the truth,..
if he went cold turkey off a benzo...i would be extremely worried and get him to a doctor asap or even a hospital...
this is nothing to be taken lightly...

I said it after 20 days and I'll say it again..... THIS IS NOT RIGHT.  He needs to see a Dr.  There maybe underlying issues.  Hes should feel "great" but he should feel "fine" by now.

Just my opinion.

Good Luck

Wow!  I remember when you first posted.  He is one tough cookie.  32 days I would think he would be feeling better.  I just don't know, but I would think going to see the doc if he is not feeling better soon.  I wish I had more to offer, but it does sound odd that he is still feeling this horrible.  The only thing I can think of is if he was taking a good amount of the xanax that he could be having some withdrawal from that now too........I really feel for you guys.  If it were the zannies then you can almost add a few weeks to the process....I am so sorry and hope he gets some relief very soon.  God Bless to both of you.

Luv,
Nauty................

thank you for your post,. and i have read the paws page awhile ago. but i will reread again, maybe there is something there that will help us. he will definately not go through this again, so he won't be "using" anything anymore. He used oxy 80mgs about 7 a day, when he didnt have these, he used roxy's, 30mgs. i dont know, 3 at a time, maybe oh i dont know, every 3hrs., and if he didnt have that, he used the mscontin, not very much of that, because it worked for a long period of time, so maybe 2 100mgs, maybe 3x a day. We realize that he will take awhile i guess to get back to some sort of normalcy, as he's been taking this stuff for about 2 yrs. like everybody says, it doesnt happen overnight, it took time to get in the system, it will take time to get out of the system.  Plus he would take zanax to get to sleep at night, maybe like 1/2 a bar or something, but when he went ct he used the heck out of the xanax, for over the 4 days it says to use it. so then we believed he was going throught the w/ds of the zs because he quit or actually ran out of those, so didnt have any. anyway, thats where we are now. he hasnt had z's in 9 days, and again, none of the other stuff for 32 days!!

Wow, day 32 would seem one would feel a little better. But addiction recovery takes time. Lots of it to feel "normal". I guess his recovery depends mostly on how much and long he used for. Are you familiar with PAWS? Check it out on the health pages (the bottom right side) He may be going through Post acute withdrawal syndrome. There is like 4 parts on PAWS but I think you should take a look. It is treatable. Good luck! Don't give in now, Day 32 is wayyyyyy to far ahead to start the process all over.
