HI....I just wanted to address all of you you know who you are and some chose to remain onomious so I wont post names
I just want to let you all know that I still care and am deeply sorry I haven't been able to get back to all of you in my messenger...my son has been hospitalized for the last 17 days with pacreitis and things havent been going so well at the hospital...I have been spending a great deal of time up there with Josh he is in a great deal of pain and needs me now...between spending time up at the hospital trying to comfort my wife there just hasn't been enough time to answer all of your mail...I still try to get on at night and at least answer the new posts about methadone the best I can..I still want to be there for all of you threw this difficult time and will be sending reply's just not as quickly as I would like to..at this point I put Josh in Gods hands and know that eventually his condition will improve...I would greatly appreciate your prayers for my son to have a break threw and that he will begin to recover from this..if your in a crises mark your message URGENT so it will flag me to reply I will do my best to continue to help all that come my way good luck to all of you and God bless....your friend and fellow addict.....Mark

HI and once again thanks for all your support and prayers....the first thing I want to address is the messenger...I dident want to stop people from messaging me ...I merely wanted to address that it may take me a day or 2 to get back to you unless marked urgent...I get a lot out of being able to help people with there recovery and although working one on one with people takes time it is still very important to me as well as my recovery also so keep it coming....As for my son Josh today was the first day he wasn't on pain meds around the clock he only needed it 2 times all day so he is beginning to heal ...in the next day or 2 they will be trying him out on clear liquids ...thats the acid test for pacritic if he dose well and the pain dosent come back he will be on the road to recovery..we still have a ways to go but at least where making progress in the right direction.....I will still try and get on and post a bit...it helps get my mind off of this whole mess witch is a good thing....anyways I now have hope that mabe by the end of this week he will be home again...thaks again for supporting me I feel loved by the people of this sight.....your freind and fellow addict .....Mark

Ever since I read this post, everytime I look at my 5 year old son, I realize just how blessed I am and how motivating that should be to stay clean.  I know bad things happen to good people all the time, but my heart really goes out to you man and I am praying that things get better for him and your family.

I could never provide the level of knowledge and comfort that you have on this board, but I will make it a point to try and encourage the other "methadonions"(lol) in the meantime. I think what you and Avis and Laurel and the other old heads do for us newbies is so honorable.  Take Care.

Hey thanks for all your prayers and support...although they still dont know what is causing Josh's pancreatic they have finely got his pain to a manageable level witch is HUGE ...they dont know why it is taking him so long to respond to treatment so we still have a ways to go
but at least he is able to rest comfortable now well its back up to the hospital for me

So sorry to hear about your son, it sure is hard on the whole family. Maybe for a little while I will try to respon a bit more to methadone people and I can let them know you may be detained a bit if you would like. Dont forget to tend to your own sobriety through this ordeal ether. I'll be sending out a prayer for your family.

Hello Mark, I haven't posted here for a good few years but I too have been on methadone for 8 years and morphine & oxy before that here in the UK.  I was a medical student and have quite a large knowledge of methadone and personal experience of what an insideous drug it is as do you. I have to go out now but will post later and tell my whole story in case anyone is interested. I have first hand experience of every opiate by every route. So it's possible I may be able to offer help to someone. Anyway just wanted to say I hope your son gets better soon as I'm sure he will. I am thinking of you both.
