question

I have a friend that takes morphine, vicodin, and has medical pot.. he doesn't abuse the pills, he does smoke a lot of pot, all due to chronic back pain,,, the pills he's been on for i'd say over 5 years, and the pot became pretty heavy within the last year,, he doesn't think he has a problem with addiction,,, my question is can you take all of these things and not be addicted??

Yes, he probably is physically dependant, but that is NOT the same as addicted. If he takes his meds as prescribed and for pain only (not to get high) then he is not addicted. But if he tried to get off these meds he would have w/d's because our bodies become dependant on the drugs.

I would think so for a great number of people who don't have the addictive nature........................
