Norco and blood work....

does anyone know how norco affects lab work?? I have been coming on this site for months now.... after a 3 yr norco addiction i have been able to taper down to 2 or 3 a day and plan on going ct in the next few wks. I hate myself and the person i have become. My husband and i have wanted a baby for yrs now. I am getting lab work done next week to check my hormone levels and hopefully get some answers as to why i havnt gotten pregnant. But i am worried about this new dr knowing about my addiction...... does anyone know how the norco will affect my blood work?? will my dr know how long i have had this addiction?? And if i go ct now and get sick from withdrawels will that affect my lab work?? Will they know im having withdrawls?? Sorry for the stupid questions..... i hate what this drug has done to me. I want nothing more then to feel the way i did before i ever had one stupid pill!!!

I agree 100%!!!!!

If you sincerely want to do things the best way (which I'm sure you do)...kick this habit FIRST before even trying to get pregnant.  Take your time and make sure you are in a healthy place, free of the addiction demons before taking on something so big and important.

And yes....unless a specific tox screen is ordered, the Norco will not be detected in your blood.  That is not a standard test, and they would have to have your consent first.

Best of luck to you!

The lab work that they will do will only check for your progesterone/estrogen level. They cannot tell if you have been doing opiates w/o your consent. This is not standard practice in an ob/gyn practice anyway. Just try and taper quickly as you dont want this addiction  throughout your pregnancy. (bad outcome for u and baby). As far as the w/d they will detect that your bp is elevated and you may have other signs of w/d. You can wait until the bloodwork is done and then detox. It is up to you but DONT get pregnant on these drugs. Your baby will suffer for it. Good luck
