suboxone miricle

I started suboxone yesterday, and I can't believe how great I feel. I had to be in Withdrawl, so I got myself there and when I finally saw my doctor and filled my script, I was able to go to work within 2 hours of my first dose. I woke up today with a new outlook on life and after 4 years on pills, with the constant fear of letting them go, I finally did it. Anyone out there who has considered this an option, take it from me, it is sooooooo worth it.

I am only on day two of suboxone, but what i can tell you is that I took my last pill (not the last one i have, however the rest are now flushed) I took my final pill at 6pm on Tues. night, my appointment the next day was at 1:00, and when I got to the doctor I felt very very awful. He talked about 30min. and then I took my script to the drug store, and after another half hour there, I was crying and begging to get some relief. I started with half a pill, and 20 min. later another half. I still had a little crappy feeling, so i took another 1/4. then I fell asleep. I woke up two hours later, and was at work by five. I am a waitress at a super busy bbq joint, and I worked all night till 11pm. I felt a little weird, but overall I am doing great. I worked again today and feel almost completely normal. There is my experience so far. It does taste bad, but that is a price I am willing to pay for this chance to get my life back. I have never had to expericene withdrawl in four years that i have been on pain meds, and never want to feel it again. I am in an outpatient program, and will post here when i get any useful info from my doc. I don't know how long I will be on this, but right now I don't care. I just know I don't want to be on pain meds. that is for sure!!!!

Yes it works.  I feel good , no cravings and only take a pill once a day. I am new on it so can't tell you what it's going to be like getting off this.  All I can say it is better than what I was doing.  Taking tons of pills, risking everything buying on the streets, detoxing only to relapse. I am working on breaking all those old bad habits. Like running for a pill everytime I get upset or need to get things done.    Are you going to take it short term to detox or longer for maintenance ?

I myself am going to the dr. on the 3rd for script of soboxone. I heard or read rather that the taste was pretty bad, but other then that it works great. Im looking forward to getting myself off of pain meds. Im looking for any help I can get. Are you experiencing any side effects from taking suboxone? It would be great if you could tell me anything on what I should expect. My main concern is does it work?

AWESOME FOR YOU HUN!!! this is great to hear...i am so proud of you, and i know you have done your homework and are not going into this blindly, and ready to face it head on...no denial!!!  awesome job hun...
someday people will know the facts about suboxone before even  making a "blind remark" about it...someday people will be informed, but only after attempting cold turkey 500+ times will they then realize it rarely can be done alone or without help...
simply getting clean is nothing in comparison to being able to learn the tools to stay there...
and studies show that there is a 78% chance of success with long term maintenance of suboxone...
so yeah...LOL!  i'll stick with the "band-aid" for my new life...as long as it takes...i know i WONT be going back...
be proud opf the excellent decision that you have made for YOUI!!!
take care...talk soon!!

I really do not know how you all feel.  I was never addicted to anything.  I am dependent on pain meds for my broken neck or many years ago.  I get facets and when they wear off I am back on the meds.  I am determined this time to grin and bear the pain until the next facet

P.S.  When your done with cold turkey or tappering or Suboxone, your NOT done, finished and all better. Thats when the hard part starts, the work, the cravings etc. A good support system is needed, N/A, couseling or this forum. I can tell you, without this forum and all the great people here, I don't think I would have gotten this far.

I've been on the sub now for about 3 weeks. I've done the cold turkey thing, longest I made it was 2 months. Couldn't afford to take the time off again.But I would do the cold turkey again, no problems, its after the ct I couldn't handle. So I went the Suboxone route. So far so good. And I'm already tappering down off it.
What ever works to get clean is what you do. The final result is to be clean, doesn't matter which road you take, just get there.

Just curious, why would you want to leave one drug and go to another.  You are still addictive to a drug and the side effects of suboxone are:

    *  cold or flu-like symptoms
    * headaches
    * sweating
    * sleeping difficulties
    * nausea
    * mood swings

In my opinion you will be on this drug for a long time, you may as well taper down or go cold turkey and be done with it.  I know it is hard but you can do it.
