My husband has a serious problem with percocet i have fybromyalgia and i have them precribed for me and he steals them when i hid them he destroys my house and finds the pills so i really need some advise on how to help him he says he wants to stop but i dont know if he is mentally stabble to stop. Last night he stole the rest of my pills and switched them for lexapro so i wouldnt know the difference so i hope that he has learned his lesson on how serious this is he could have overdosed me on lexapro and i dont know if he even knew what he was doing any advise on how to help my husband there are two kids involved in this situation i dont know if i should take my kids and leave and let him deal with it or if i should stay and keep trying to help him. please help me with some great advice
yes he is set that i need the medication and that "weening" down is not a option its either take them or i get cut off and basically he would probably start treating me like ****..he is just one of those doctors
Have you discussed your addiction with your doctor? With your other medical issues you really need to talk with him/her.
I broke both of my ankles while skateboarding and the doctor gave me percocet 10's but after the worst of the pain was over he started giving me vicodin 10's and since i have had quite a few health problems..chronic prostitus and chronic kidney stones that almost kill me on flare ups :(
I personally tapered my dose quite drastically and just dealt with the bad part! Suboxone can help but it is habit forming also! I'm almost through day 4 of clean and have felt fine for the last two days except for a few minor head games! Tapering and cold turkey aren't for everyone but if use suboxone be careful and good luck! Remember you have to be 100% mentally ready to quit or you won't! Always remember it gets a lot better in time!
Hi Chris i am sara and i am a recovering addict/alcoholic. I am glad you found this place as you will find a ton of support. I read your story and see you were pretty young when you started. You say there is no way in he!! that you can stop or even wean down. Yes you can stop and no your life wont be like those 6 days. That is just the wd. It does get better but we have to go thru that to get to the other side. What happened when you were 14 to get you using these meds?
