withdrawal of lexapro, xanax and oxicontin and oxiconting er

I have been on lexapro 20 mg daily for the past 8 year xnax  2 mg per day for the past 6 years, oxicoden 5mg 3 times a day for 2 years and oxicontin 10mg twice a day.  The reason for this medications where hep c and 2 years ago liver transplant and herniated disk.  I will like to detox from all of the above to see what I really need after the transplant as I am feeling good now.  My psychiatrist whats me to slowly cut down on all medications at once.  That does not make sense.  what is the best way to detox form all this medication.  I thought of going in the hospital for detox but do not seem to find detox program that takes medicare.
please help I am tired of taking all this medication and as a former drug adict 25 years ago I do not like the tempation that the oxicoden gives me.

Hey guys ..,. I'm new to this forum and it is inspiring to see such wonderful and caring people such as yourselves in this world.
I can honestly say that I've been an addict for the last 8 years. At 28years of age I've experimented with all types of drugs but my poison is Xanax and Oxy's... I've been to rehab on two separate occasions. The first time was at an elite top grade rehab facility in Sydney and at the time I was trying to come off  Xanax 2mg, taking them 3 to 6 times a day. It was ok with all the support in rehab but I lasted two weeks thinking I'm free of addiction. My ego and arrogance made me think I could do it on my own. After gradually substituting vellum for Xanax I was slowly getting there in rehab I decided to discharge myself and finish my withdrawal regime on my own. I lasted 1 month and got back on the Xanax.
That was two years ago and now I am still taking Xanax 2mg once a day and hooked on the Oxy's taking 80mg tablets 5 times at once a day. I crush them in my mouth for god sake to get a faster hit.
Guys I just recently got married and my wife is an absolute angel. She really is. I hate the fact that she watches me spend half my time at the doctors battling and chasing these evil demonic drugs that take possession of your body. I just want to end this as fast as I can and I am scared I can tell ya that. I want to do it on my own with help from doctors and my lord Jesus christ, because without him I don't think I would be here today. I truly believe I should be dead with the experiences I've had in the past..
Guys I wish you all the best and I know how hard these evil drugs are. God bless you all

I think the doctor had a good idea going one at a time like other forum members have said there are risks of seizures with some of the meds .... slow and steady wins the race :)
good luck

i concur with all. you cannot cold turkey off lexapro or xanax. the risk of seizure activity rises dangerously.

Welcome...U will have to get together with your doctor and get a good taper for the lexapro and xanax...going cold turkey off of both these meds is very dangerous, especially if you have underlying medical conditions...I know in the state i live in there are some places that do take medicare and medicaid...Maybe u can ask your doctor to help u find a place..that is good idea...I would think because of having a liver transplant that is what you should do anyway, but i am not a doctor, just my opinion
Good luck

Welcome ...this is a great place for help and support.. I think slowly cutting down on the meds makes sense...you CANNOT cold turkey(stop abruptly) off xanax. This will be hard but you can do it.....it is great you want to take your life back.!!!
Good luck!
