This is day 5 for me being clean and obtaining sleep has also been an issue, as in my situation it's due to anxiety attacks waking me up every few hours. I found that Benadryl, an OTC antihistamine has the effect of making me feel very drowsy, especially if purchased in the sleep aid version (2xBenedryl). It also helps take some of the edge off of the anxiety, how-ever upon awakening you will feel somewhat drowsy + zombie-like for a few hours afterwards, but when it comes to anxiety attacks and getting sleep, I have to do what I must because those attacks are not pleasant at all! Combining that with some other otc sleep-aids (Melatonin) has made me somewhat of a zombie as of late but I feel confident that once my body is fully detoxed from the original drug abuse I'll be able to eliminate all of that peripheral **** I'm currently taking during this detox period.
Best Wishes,

I can also relate.
This is a tough one.......
sleep will come eventually. It took me about 5 weeks.
Please hang in there.
I can relate to this, 55 days ago I detoxed from methadone & did,nt sleep for many weeks, & tried every over the counter sleep medication, including melatonin & still wasnt able to sleep, I got so desperate that I called my doctor & she put me on trazodone, its a antidepressant that makes you very sleepy, & reduces anxiety, it was a lifesaver for me & I finally can sleep for 6-7 hours per night.
sleep will come...do u have anything for sleep like tylenol pm or melatonin?...turning your air down to make ur house really cold slows the metabolism down and can aid in sleep...maybe a hot batch with dim lights first to relax u...dont know...just trying to help...i took a sleep aid from the doctor so i did not have this thank goodness..prayers are with you
