about suboxone

i called my doc today asking him for some medication for rls, back pain and insomnia, he has decided to put me on sub. i know i can get a better pic from u guys whether i should go no with sub or i shouldn t. i did take sub at initial stage of my recovery and tapered it down to 0 in 20 or 25 days. is it wise enough to go on it again.

Gunnu - I think going on subs is a mistake at this point in your recovery, You've come so far man, and been through so much. The subs will give you some relief, but, again, another detox and withdrawal down the road. I haven't personally taken subs, but I have read some posts from people
who weren't at all happy about the withdrawals. What you need is a permanent solution. I know insomnia is bad. I'm still going through it.
Some nights I get so frustrated. I've been taking a a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement that has helped a lot with the RLS. And I too am having back problems and pain. I stretch for an hour, use heat and cold treatments and take ibuprophin or aleve. Hot baths also help. Please consider carefully regarding the suboxone. Have you tried Kava tea or L-theanine to help you sleep? Take care and keep posting.

Exactly!  Just keep going forward!

Get some combination potassium and magnesium tablets. You should be able to get this over the counter in the vitamin area. Take two. It works very quickly so you ll feel better!

I think you would be foolish at this stage to go on Suboxone. You are playing with fire and if you think the withdrawal from opiates was bad, well...you ain't seen nothing yet.

You have come so far. Is it really that bad that you can't endure this for a few more days or maybe a week? I just think you would be throwing a lot away and taking a step back.

Certainly it is your choice but I hope you think long and hard about it. Type in Suboxone Withdrawal in the search at the top of this page and do some reading. I think that may change your mind.

You've come so far gunn and you're so close to getting past the worst of early recovery.  Starting the subs is a mistake - you'll only have to get off of that too.  Please don't do it.
