If people do herion why do they give u suboxen to replace the drug,only so u get addicted to that its like giving a drug up to help replace it with something just the same i just detoxed from suboxen and it was worst then my first addictiion?????

Well done with detox. How was it I'm just about to start mine. What dose did you stop at amd how long were wd's for?

The FDA approved Suboxone for a 21-day detox program that is supposed to include counseling.  It was never intended to be a maintenance medication, but of course, once a drug is approved and on the market it can be prescribed however a doctor sees fit.  The philosophy with Suboxone, Subutex and methadone is the same.  They are long-acting drugs that don't deliver the same euphoric experience as typical drugs of abuse.  You won't have to constantly fight the ups and downs as when you were using.  When used as prescribed and in conjunction with therapy, you can stabilize your life first and then detox.  By then, hopefully you have some new skills to deal with life without self-medicating.

You have my sympathy for enduring Suboxone detox.  I know it's not pretty, and you are far from alone in that the experience is worse than detoxing from your drug of choice.  But you DID it - congrats!

I am sorry to hear you had a hard time with the Suboxen withdrawal but I am glad you got through it.

Suboxen is not designed to be a pill to replace any drug. It is a complete program that should be done only under a doctor's care along with outside support and counseling. The doctor should monitor the patient carefully and advise that there will be withdrawal issues at the end of the program. You should have also be properly weaned at the end. If you did not get this care, I am sorry. I advise anyone who is going to do the program to research it thoroughly first.

In any case, you are here and made it through so congrats for that!
