the ceiling dose for suboxone(8mgs buprenorphine and 2mgs naloxone per tablet) is 32mgs a day, and if you go higher it will actually become a full opiate antagonist, putting you into severe wd's, so the lower the dose,r gith around 4-24mgs is actually the best and most efficient dose of suboxone. Thats for buprepnorphine, the drug Subutex is just buprenorphine and no naloxone, but the naloxone is ineffective and not active if you take suboxone correctly(sublingually-under the tongue). Are you in Europe or outside the US? If not a dose around 16mgs should hold a gram a day or any severity of addiction to heroin. I was doing right around that same dose daily of very pure light brown rock Heroin and 8mgs to start with took away completely all of the physical wds, I had some cravings within the next month, but the mental aspect of wds and recovery is truly fixed through going to counseling, NA meetings, and therapy. No drug is going to be the solution to that problem, but as far as you being sick 4-8mgs(a low dose) of suboxone is needed and you need to be at least 24hrs without taking any heroin before trying any suboxone otherwise youll be put instantly into precipitated wd, its pretty brutal.-christos

Dude, you need to ask a doctor. What worries me is that you are referring to suboxone first in 2 ml's and then you refer to using a gram a day. Suboxone is does in mg's and the biggest single pill to my knowledge is 8 mg's, however many people are perscribed much more. I used percocets and OC's for a few years and I self medicated myself to 2 mg's daily,  but only after thorough research and consultation. Depending on how severe your usage was, the longevity, are key factors in making that decision. But the fact that you used heroin for 20 years leads me to believe professional help may be beneficial, at least post on "ask a doctor" though he may give you similar advice. Either way you'll feel a hell of a lot cleaner on the boxone then on the smack. eventually once your brain repairs itself you can think about getting off everything... Good luck, you owe it to yourself after all these years of dulling it all out, the world is a crazy place you dont wanna miss it.
