summer triggers

I was just wondering how many of us have a much harder time avoiding the "party" pit falls of summer fun..The BBQ, beach, some good rock n roll..I am finding that summer is a huge trigger for me..and I have been avoiding the BBq's etc..This will be my first summer off drugs in a long time..6 yrs..I have had the urge to use my doc..but even more to get a 6 pk or whatever..This is going to be a long trigger...

U know another member told me that summer was her high time for triggers....I am way down south so i dont think the weather change is that significant as far as heat etc....we only get below freezing several days a year as a rule, and I have gotten sunburned on Christams day or Mardi Gras in February.......whenever i crave i get busy so lots of stuff to do helps me...i was a daytime user tho to make it thru work with my back...never really partied on them but did love the energy and euphoria they provided...so far so good....just so dern hot here...the humidity will suck the life out of you as of late

the humidity is horrible..gotta love the a/c lol..for me it's the whole thing..smoking pot,drinking etc..I know I have to figure out a different way to go about my summer..in michigan you have to grab it while you can..lol..anyway.it's hard because i have to avoid my friends pretty much..they all party, none are addicts that i am aware..but..i am..so..I will have to figure out something else..I think for me it's more wanting to drink and crank up the tunes..

Wow...I was just thinking about this yesterday...This is my first summer clean in a long time...I have to say it will be my test....With the kids being home all day, to the camping, fishing etc, errrrrrr.....I have actually missed 2 things , because it is hugh triggers, but can't do that to my kids all summer u know???  I can so relate to this post...And i love summer.....One day at a time i guess

If you're gonna drink, turn it up & make it bubble! All seriousness aside though, substitute. Club soda, pepsi, whatever may work. Might trade Jimi for some B.B. King, or Eric Clapton. Classic blues. Just change a few things, and maybe you will be able to change your mood.

I am a lil late here but still thought this was funny. I hear you confused I never mix drinks and booze either. I hate when I did that it seemed to make me drunk... Whats really bad is when someone slips some drinks in yer booze what do they call that a mickie???? Can we say inebriated????????

ok...I am being serious here...This is really the first time that I actually feel the need to do something...that is sad...and so far i am not passing the summer test..not doing pills, but by drinking....I guess i just really understand what you all are talking about ...TRIGGERS....craving...and all that bs..not liking it.

I dont want to rain on anyones parade here but just be careful.  The alcohol can take you places you dont want to venture.  I do know what you are saying tho. My cravings for drinking are few and far between anymore but summer was always full of pills but then so was spring,fall and winter!!!!  Just be careful my friend.
