Hey Friend,
Congrats on getting your life back! About the taper... I chose to taper fast. I needed to taper for my job, but then again I didn't want the mental aspects to be drug out through a long taper, so I bit the bullet and did a 2 month taper from over 260 mg of oxycodone daily. It was rough, but I am glad I didn't drag it out longer. That is just me, everyone is different. Some people say if they taper too quickly it makes them relapse. That was never a thought for me, so I don't know, it's differnet for everyone.
However you do it, keep your eye on the goal. It's been about a year for me and I have my life back, my brain chemicals back, and I am happy to live each day.
hugs,
Lily
my doctor prescribed them for pain but i want to get off them
Did you know you have two threads going that were posted at the same time, both titled "tapering"....just so we don't get confused?
Just to add to what 10356 has said, do you have someone helping you with the taper, that is, someone who you trust who can hold the pills so that you stick to your plan? And yea, you are tapering pretty fast, but if it is working for you, then all the better.

Hi Hampstead. Welcome to the forum.. We are not allowed to give out tapering advice but I can say the slower the better. yes you are going to fast. The idea of a taper is to take out a lil let your body/mind adjust then remove a lil more repeat till gone. A long taper you should feel minimal wd with each drop. Have you spoke with your Dr.? are these prescribed ? Do you abuse your meds ? we do have tips on ways to combat the effects of wd and make them bearable. If you could give a lil more detail of what is going on with you Maybe we can help our at least support.. lesa
