tramadol withdraw

How long does it take for tramadol to get out of your system?  Is there a withdraw remedy?  Is tapering off the only help?

Binsky, tapering is definitely the best  way to go.  If you are being prescribed the drug, you could tell your doctor that tramadol is similar to effexor in terms of tapering, as many doctors still don't seem to know this.

How long it takes is generally a function of how long you have been taking tramadol & your current dose.

Once you are off the tramadol, there are remedies such as 5htp or St John's Wort that can help stabilise your serotonin levels.

During tapering, you can take immodium if you have stomach issues, a good sublingual vitamin b; magnesium salt baths & whey protein drinks are good for maintaining nutrition if you can't stomach solid food.  The Thomas recipe, (link at the bottom right of this page) is also worth exploring.

There are lots of us around who have been through the process, so please keep posting.

Best wishes.
