I've only been taking the trams for a few weeks probably 400mg/day, but I started taking them when I got off methadone at the beginning of Dec for the methadone wd's. Today was rough my legs are killing me. Please tell me this will end soon...

It all depends on how much you were taking a day. Were you taking more than you were supposed to or less? My problem is with vicodin, but I do know coming off of ultram or tramadol is worse if you took more than you were supposed to. From what I've read on this forum the physical part of the withdrawal can last anywhere from 5-10 days. The worst of it hitting you around day 5 or 6 and then slowly getting better after that. The mental part of it can take anywhere from a few weeks up to a few months or longer. Your mind will try to trick you into thinking you need these things to keep going. Like the physical withdrawal, it will get better as you get more clean days. And the frequency of those will become less and less as the days go by. You just have to remember that it will get better. I'm withdrawing off vicodin right now. I slowly tapered down, but am still feeling withdrawals from it. I know it feels like it will never end, but I promise you it will and you WILL start to feel better. And before you know it you'll start to feel like your old self again. Hang in there. There are lots of people on this forum who are going through the same things you are. Or have already gone through them. It does get better. I promise.
