Good for you Warm. Keep on keepin' on. The days will start to pile up!
On the L=tyro, it took me a few days to get the dose right. I ended up at 1000mg in the morning and another 500 at noon if i needed it. You can go higher but it might give you the runs, Adjust until you find the right dose.
Happy to hear that you're getting exercise too. It took me a while before I was comfortable outside the house. I took it slow, staying gone for progressively longer periods. Now at 56 days I don't even think about it anymore. I have some agoraphobia-ish issues so maybe that's just me. Take care and keep posting! Glad you're here.
That should read you guys are the most important! LOL
Day 15. My best day yet! Got out of bed before noon...yaaaay! Even got out of the house. Me and my wife rode the motorcycle to go get breakfast and buy me some L-tyrosine. Feeling pretty good today and now I'm going to hit the treadmill for 20 minutes. Thank you all for the support and advice! Out of all the detox remedies you guess are the most important! :-)
Warm - DONT take subs - you are two weeks off the hydros just tough it out. Just wanted to say welcome - I'm 39 days off Hydros myself and sooo glad I stopped. Just hang in there you will feel better. You didn't do this to yourself overnight and you aren't gonna get better over night. If you set your mind to this you CAN do it. Glad you found this forum!
I'm dreading Thursday but excited too at the chance to make the final good decision. Thank all of you I really needed to talk. I will repost Thursday or sooner if I need a life line.
Completely empathize with you- hang in there & thank YOU for the support!
Okay. So you were drinking and taking pills before you hurt your shoulder....I think you should cancel your appt. on Thursday or go in and tell them you're an addict and need help. You need to shut off those 90 pills or you won't get anywhere. I'm sure they'll help you but stay away from Sub or Methadone if they offer that. You've come to far to get stuck on that stuff.
Warm, just have faith in yourself. If you really want to do this, you can and it sounds to me like you do. Just focus on your exercise again when you are feeling better. You will probably have a much quicker reaction time boxing and knock someone's lights out. lol
You sound like you really want this and it literally is a day by day process. I wish you all the best.
Yeah I am nervous about turning those precious 90 down Thursday especially since I stopped my street supply. I was drinking from the time I got off work until bed. The crazy part is I always ran 8-12 miles a day and boxed with sparing partners 4 days a week while drinking and eating all the damn pills. The boxing tore my shoulder and it all went to **** from there.
Congrats on 2 weeks. it does get better. Protein, protein, protein. B-vitamins too. If you quit drinking too, then you are probably getting a double dose of withdrawals. Depending on how much and often you drank, alcohol withdrawals can be brutle too I hear.
I had the same issue as you, I went to my monthly back doctor appt. and he was about to right my monthly 120 per month norco script and I told him that I was off narcotics. He then tried to put me on Tramadol but after reading so many horror stories on this site, I didnt have it filled. I have been getting by on Ibuprophen.
I will say, it was one very proud moment in my recovery to turn down 120 pills.
That sound like a good idea and I am worried about my liver. The crazy part is I'm known as a health nut...with a dark secret. >:-(
Don't say you're allergic, that's a give away. Say you're extremely sensitive. However, unless you are more up front, they'll keep offering an opiate. Why not say you're worried about becoming dependent ?
Your right, I use to get. They are waiting on me thrursday for the taking. I deleated from my phone all the street dr's and put the word out Im not wanting any. I can't be off 6 weeks for the surgery and recovery. Thursday will be my moment of truth. I can't undo these last two weeks I've worked to hard. Thank everyone. Each post gives me a push!
Your right. I don't get refills I have To go to the doc each month. I will ask for alternatives and I thought about putting allergic to hydro on my chart.
Today is the moment of truth. Call the pharmacy and cancel that refill. It happens all the time. You need to do this if you're serious. Don't set yourself up to fail...

You get 90 hydros? Okay. You used to. Not anymore. Get an arthroscopy for that shoulder and get the rotator cuff repaired. That won't get better. Cancel the refills if you have any. You just have to go after this with all you've got. As far as the energy goes...you need to trick your brain. Honestly. Just pretend you have energy.
It might be helpful to you to tell another person about your situation. I don't know but think about it. In any case, your secret is safe with me. ;)
Thank you for the advice. I will get some L-tyrosine tomorrow. I went in the kitchen and checked my whey protien shake mix and it has 850 mg of it also.making a shake now with a one a day. Then I will get on the treadmill for 15 minutes. I can't believe I went from competing in Exterra off road triathlons To extreme couch potato. Seeing all those trainIng supplements depressed the hell out of me. :-(
There are some non addictive meds out there for restless legs/cramps. Ask your doctor about them. 2 weeks is awesome! Don't turn back now.
don't take anything. You're going to feel better, it just takes some time. The
Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc 3in1 supplement really cleared up my RLS.
FORCE yourself to go take a short, light, run. I know you can't get off the couch, believe me, I know that feeling. Do it anyway, you will be very glad you
did. Have you tried L-tyrosine for energy? It works for me. 55 days clean and I still take 2 a day, 4 per day a month ago (500mg per pill). Hang in there, don't give up and keep posting.
Thanks Vicki. You are official the first person who knows I don't have the "flu". I had the luxury of one suboxine to cheat the first 3 days. i cut it up. It didn't get me high just no symptoms. I get 90 a month from doc for torn rotator cuff and back. I'm now afraid to even go to a non narcotic. I'm a runner but my legs hurt so bad I can't get off this damn couch! I thought the suboxine could be tapered but since i couldn't taper hydro I guess it's a bad idea.
I was going to ask about that but I figured that was it...lol
The beginning of my post was I'm 2 weeks cold turkey. Sorry to sound confusing ...cloudy head.
