This is my third day off of taking between 7 to 15 vicodin a day...or whatever I got my hands on, even morphine..anyway, I felt good enough to go to the state fair yesterday but today I'm feeling crazy. Is anyone taking L-tyrosine? Can I take as much as I need? Does it work? Oh my god. I have a one and a half year old and I need to make it through the day until my husband gets home at seven.
please, do take everything that is recommended here at the forum for those RLS, they do help :)
finaly feel a sleep around 2 or 3 woke up at 430 with a ragging head ache took some tylenol and was able to go back to sleep. I slept till 7 and I feel pretty good except for the feeling that electricity is running through my arms and legs. But the sleep was much welcomed . well I am halfway through day another day. Thanks to all who have commented
Good Luck I am hoping that at this point you are sleeping restfully. I also have the RLS when I try to stop all pills. It's wierd because I can go all day without anything and then the minute I try to go to bed it starts. I get so scared I don't know what to do, I also recently posted on here and got good feedback, tomarrow I am going to get Hylands for RLS or what ever is similar here in Costa Rica......
I have no idea how long the twitches will last but I am still shocked that , this is the hardest part of W/D. I agree w/ goingtomakeit, maybe a brisk walk will work. Good luck and keep updating on progress as I might take a little longer.
I agree it is the worst part I cant sleep and its starting to wear me down . Its so wierd I tappered down from 10 - 12 10/500 lortabs a day to where I was taking 1/4 of a pill 4 times a day with out getting the twittchy legs. It took 34 days to get there. But as soon as i stopped taking any pills the twitchy's started. It has caught me off guard . But as one member has said you always have to pay the withdrawl troll at the end. Im going to try and go back to sleep wish me luck
I am 20 days off of Tramadol and still sometimes get the twitchy legs/RLS thing. It is not anywhere near as bad as the first week and to be honest out of all the WDs that one almost had me tossing in the towel. If you can't get to a store right now try eating a couple of bannas and a glass of milk if your stomach with let you. I did that one night out of desperation and it seemed to help for a little while. I just recently picked up Hylands for Restless legs and it helps me especially at night when I am trying to get to sleep. Get up and walking around some also helps. Just keep in mind it will get better and better each day you stay clean. Take care and hang in there. Blessings, Lisa
Taking brisk walks later in the day sometimes helps. A bath with 3-4 cups of Epsom salts helps force magnesium into the leg muscles. Hylands makes a formula that helps with restless legs. As to why you get them? I don't know, but I do know they do go away eventually.
The reason for the rls is because once your body becomes addicted it doesn't send out near as much dopamine and endorphins thru out your body and from what I have read and everything a long time ago while ibwas going thru this it is the lack of dopamine that causes the rls which is why the rls is so bad during withdrawal and the lack of both is what causes the fatigue and lack of motivation and the only thing that I found that helps the rls is potassium and magnesium and I took it twice a day but it only helps it in no way makes it completely go away
