Not likely. Seizures don't typically start out as panic attacks. Panic attacks are actually more likely to occur if you abruptly stop taking Ultram. There is a risk of seizures while taking Ultram, however, especially while on the extended release version. If your wife has been on this medication at this dose for 4 years though, I would not expect seizures to start up at this point. Seizures are more likely if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Unless any changes have been made in your wife's medication regimen, or the dose was raised, I would look into other causes for the panic attacks. Is there anything new going on in her life? Any anniversery of something coming up? Stressors? If the panic attacks persist, I would definitely recommend she go to see a doctor to get some releif. Good luck and best wishes to you both!
