Question About Klonopins

My dr gave me Klonopins (0.5 mgs  1-2 ) at night to help me sleep. They work pretty good for the twitching, anxiety and being ancy but sometimes i have to take up to 3. Im on day 4 w/o any Percocet's  and i feel pretty well aside of the shaking every now and then during the day and the trouble sleep / insomnia at night, which is when the worst of the withdrawls seem to happen. Im sure after a week my sleeping will get easier and twitching will stop but im worried that illb e addicted to the Klonopins =/ Just wondering if anyone had any input or info on those and what not. SankYou :)

They are in the Benzo class and are a controlled substance that can be addictive but they are one of the weaker benzo's (much weaker than Xanax).  They stay in your system longer than Xanax and are excellent for moderate anxiety and insomnia.  Use them as prescribed as long as you need them and then carefully ween off of them with the help of your doctor.  Benzo's have gotten a bad name because of abusers but if used correctly under close observation can be of great help!

Please be carefull, i took them as perscribed for a while and i then just got off of them, i had the worst w/d's....it was worst then opiates...
Please take them sparingly, and only for the w/d's, then u still probably should taper off slowly
congrats on getting clean

I would taper off them as soon as you can the shorter time you are on them the better .Good luck :)

You should be fine if you only take them for a week or two. Does the doctor who gave them to you know you are in withdrawals? If you take them longer, you will need to taper off them.

Yes, you could get addicted to them.  They are a strong benzodiazapine, same class as Xanax.  I take .5 mg twice a day myself, and I know I have to taper very slowly to get off them.  I hear w/d from them is much worse than w/d from any opiate.  Also, c/t from a benzo can cause seizures.  Just be careful and keep in touch with the Dr. who prescribed them.  I believe they are a controlled substance, but not entirely sure.  Someone else may know the truth.
