vicodin and conceiving a baby

I recently found out that my husband is addicted to vicodin. I never saw the signs and was not aware of it this whole time. Before I found out we were trying to conceive a baby. I am pretty sure that I am pregnant, I'll find out next week, but I am afraid that the vocodin addiction will harm my baby. I am not aware of the side effects of vocodin when trying to conceive. I am so terrified, I can't even begin to tell you. I am faced with this huge problem and don't know how to resolve it. Not only I found out my husband is an addict, not I might face to have a child that can potentially be harmed by his actions. Please can you inform me what the side effects are and what to expect please. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi,

He cannot transfer the drug through his sperm if that is what you are thinking.

You should be concerned that you are about a have a baby with an unstable person. If he continues the possibilities are endless as to what he could do. I don't mean harm you or the baby physically. I do mean take money, do illegal activities, sell things out from under you, not provide, etc.

If you find out you are pregnant you may have some decisions to make.

I wish you the best.

Hi~

That would have no affect on the baby BUT it's a rough situation to bring a baby into.
Get an at home pregnancy test. They're very accurate(believe me!!) and ask your husband what he plans to do about his problem. He needs to quit now!!

Good luck~
