my love and I have made the aweful choice of smoking 100 plus a piece a day of black tar.... I have gone through withdrawals before and cant believe I went back.and I am terribly sad my love went with me. I have 15 strips of saboxon, is this enough for us to get off ,and is it going to hurt, I, we want to be done so despretely but have very busy lives. please can someone expain to us how to do this properly. he is five seven 160lbs, and I am five three 128lbs.... thank you so much. we want our lives back.
Glad to hear you're both committed to getting clean. I'm glad you didn't use the subs. I'm not sure how safe what you're doing is as I have no experience with heroin. But I hope you'll keep posting and letting us know how you're doing. You might want to try some Imodium for the stomach issues. It also may take a slight edge of any withdrawals. If you google Imodium for withdrawal you can see how it has an opiate base that doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. Bananas, tonic water with quinine may help with the restlessness. There's also a product called Restful Legs made by Hylands that can be found in most drugstores and a lot of people say it really helps. Keep drinking plenty of fluids and eating whatever appeals to you.
hi, we didn't go cold turkey,after a lot off research on my part I located a way to taper down every 72 hours, we are very firm on quitting and are not turning back.... we still don't feel that great due to the lowering of dosage but it is safer then subs and in six days it will be a 0 dosage and hopefully by lowering our tolerance the final withdrawals will be very minimal, something good is happening, our bodies are coming back to life, I have sneezed every day and using the restroom is quite often but not what it would be ct.we both have the restless body syndrome but that is much less as well. I really think this is working great. and frankly when our dose hits zero if we still get super sick then so be it. we are on the road to recovery and that's the main focus here:) And staying that way is music to our ears.

Just to reiterate what someone said...there is no worse hell then being thrown into full withdrawal by taking sub too soon. Trust me I did it a few times, each time thinking I waited long enough and it was bad. To make it worse, if you mess around with sub it won't work anymore. Having tried sub and failed too many times I am now clean 37 days by going to a detox and CT through it. If in Vegas there are many places that are free and will monitor you...not fancy but doing it at home together is really hard because it's too easy to convince one another to say eff this. CT ***** but withdrawing from sub is supposed to be far worse. Some stay on it for years and regret it. If you go that route taper immediately and stay off it and sit your *** in NA/AA meetings all effing day!!! Good luck!! BTW...I had 25yrs clean and sober until this last run and I quickly got to $100 a day of black. I'm lucky to be alive. CT is the easiest part as someone said. Read about PAWS!!! There is a long road after CT until your body is normal but I'm already doing better thank God. Again...godd luck!!

Heroin is going to be your easiest detox of all opiates. That doesn't mean it's gonna be easy though. Suboxone will get you through that first three day stretch but don't take after that. From personal experience-you will get addicted to the subs which is way bad. 15 8/2mg strips is more than enough for 2 people. When I took subs in a state detox they waited 24hrs then gave me half 2x day(1 strip) 48 hrs half 2x day(1 strip) 62 hrs half(half strip). The subs stay in your system for another day or so, so day 4 and 5 you feel somewhat decent, able to eat and all but day 6 you will feel lethargic and the usual end of detox feeling but the major kick'n is done with. If you take subs longer and higher doses your just going to get a habit on them. This is just personal experience. I'm not a doctor but I have a masters in personal experience! Be careful with the first dose of subs. Make sure, if you take it, you take it when you are super sick. If you take it to soon you'll know within 15-20 minutes and it'll be terrible. I recommend not taking subs at all but i know once your in the thick of it and there in your possession it's damn near impossible not to take them. One thing to realize as i'm sure you know, there is no easy way to come off heroin. Your going to have to have some pain. Again i'm not a doctor but I can just say what i've done. I hate doctors, many resentments, but IBKlean is right. I would CT the tar or get a good sub doc, not one that just prescribes them. You need a program that has counseling and drug tests, etc... Sub is very difficult to manage alone.
Peaceofmind, Congratulations on your decision to get clean. I am very hesitant to tell you to take the Suboxone. I highly recommend you do a program through a certified doctor. Getting clean is the easy part. Staying clean is a whole other battle as you well know. I have seen Suboxone abused in this country since it's introduction. It is an easy drug to do that with a become a weekend warrior, especially with the black tar. Nasty stuff.
Please consider going on a treatment program (out patient) where you can be monitored, held accountable and where you can be properly dosed and tapered.

Hi gh1o8s7t We do NOT give tapering or dosing advise in this community. It is very tricky business over the internet and also can be dangerous.
I understand you would like to try and avoid the withdrawals of heroin with the subs. My advice to you is to just detox from the heroin straight up. By taking the subs you are only prolonging the inevitable. Besides, the subs should be taken under a docs supervision. Its not safe to self prescribe and then try to wing it.
Im an ex heroin addict who has gone cold turkey many times from IV use. Ive also detoxed from pain pills. In my experience, the heroin detox has always been easier. Its the anxiety over it that is actually the worst part. Hey there, you do sound so scared and that is so understandable, it's not a nice thing to go through. I had never heard of suboxone strips before I came on here, I am 100 days free from subs now, I can tell you it isn't as intense as a heroin detox ( I'm guessing that is what you mean by black tar, I know that's what it means in the UK) but it still isn't easy. In my opinion you don't have enough Suboxone for two people to do it successfully, you will just send yourself through more hurt trying. Is it not possible just to go cold turkey from what you know, I know it will be hard but the detox only lasts a week tops, you might feel like crap a little longer than that but in my experience with Heroin detoxes the worst is over after 4 days then you start to feel better. It's a horrible time throughout those days granted but it's so worth the trouble. If your partner hasn't been through anything like this he will struggle for sure, I have to admit that this is my biggest worry for you two. You can't do it for him though, all you can do is try support each other and go for it. What you got to loose. Do you not have anybody else to help support you, keep hold of your money and such. Can you not get to a AA/NA meeting to find support. I don't understand the system of detox centres, Drs and insurance over there so I can't help with any advice on those but a programme of some sort would be a massive plus for both of you. Myself personally I would give the Suboxone a miss if that's all I had, you need to be clean for about 48 hours before you can take them anyway, so why bother. You will just run out to quick and find yourselves in a worse position. Suboxone can be an amazing drug if used correctly and tapered correctly but that usually only happens when they are monitored by a Dr. You could take them and use them till they run out and go cold turkey from them I suppose there is nothing stopping you doing that but that won't be easy either, so either way if you want off you have to go through it you know. There is no avoiding it, you know this right! I wish there was more I could help you with, you sound like you have all the supplements in. Just take of each other and be careful whatever way you decide to go.

OK..I am saying is if you got the Suboxone off the streets this will not be good. We can not give you a taper plan on here or help you with what you should do as far as dosage on the Subs. You should look into some free or cheap clinics and tell them what you are on and that you need help..Many Drs out here in this world are helping people who are doing drugs..I am very familiar with Las Vegas and I know they can help..Just call around and find all the information you can..YOU will find a DR there that will set you up with either the Subs or Methadone. OK..You can keep checking this post. We have NurseGirl on here that worked for a sub Dr..I sent a e-mail to a friend on here and she will talk with you in the morning..Meanwhile in the morning call all the clinics. OK You will be alright..Help is out here.

OK..Suboxone. It is used to treat opiate addiction..Go in at type up Suboxone and do some research about this..We do have tons of people that have used it successfully..You must do this safely and right with a DR..It is opiate blocker and you must give so much time in without taking your dug to be able to start this..Other wise you can get real sick..Try to search around on the web and come back..OK

No you will need lots of vit/min and things I mentioned if you want to go c/t and be done. If you want on the Subs you will need to go to a Sub dr that puts you on a maintenance program..DO NOT try the Subs on your own..They will make the w/ds worse if not done right..What you are on now will detox out a bit better then the synthetic stuff like methadone and Subs..You are on a drug that is a little more on the natural side. The body will rid this better..For me and speaking from some experience I would suggest you stay away from subs and just do this now..Stock up on all the things I said and stick with us. It will not be as bad as your head is tricking you into thinking..OK..Take a deep Breath do not use anymore and stay here with us and take one day at a time..DO NOT put yourself in a panic mode.
