I can not seem to do the most basic tasks.  Mind goes blank!  Anxiety takes over.  Even showering seems like a huge step.  And I have been off the meds for over 7 weeks!  When will it get better?

Totally agree with the others, ya gotta go see your doctor and get a plan for weaning down on those things - you are doing so well, it is all part of the process - moving ahead to the next hurdle now which is the xanax.  You will be amazed how much better you feel off them.  When I weaned down and stopped, after the initial feeling like dog doo for a week I came out from a dark cloud.  I PROMISE you your brain will feel better.

I agree its the xanax as well. I have hit some bump lately too,,no motivation and energy. Ive been reassured that this will pass too. You/We just have to feel it sometimes! 7 weeks is HUGE accomplishment!! Dont give in. ((Hugs))~Bkitty

IT IS THE XANAX.  And see a Dr. and start to wean off of the benzo.  It's going to continue to make you feel lethargic and unmotivated.. believe me I remember.  And you're on a pretty high dose is that right?  4 mgs a day which would total 8 pills of the .5 mg I used to take and that's a lot, bunco,

You're so close - please see the Dr. and get started on this!

Bunco, I agree that you shouldn't be feeling this badly right now. Are you still taking the benzos?

totally agree with ibkleen while every day is not a picnic you really shouldn't be having the issues you are having - please go get checked out thoroughly.  Everybody handles detoxing differently but at 7 weeks which is about where I am you should not be having cognitive deficits to the extent you are reporting- are you taking any other meds?  Maybe a full blood work up and psych eval are in order to make sure there are not other issues or undiagnosed conditions.  We are all thinking about you!

Have you been to see your doctor---talked with them and got a good check-up? It may be time to do that. At 7 weeks you really should not be feeling this poorly. Please see your doctor to make sure everything else is okay.
