Valium withdrawal - please help

Hello  I am currently on Day 8 of valium withdrawal - the first couple of days were not too bad but since Day 4 and 5 I have suffered horrendous symptoms - most of the ones documented.  Day 6 was a wee bit better.  But today is terrible - I had a huge panic attack, feel nauseous again and still feeling like cr*p.

Is this typical of valium withdrawal from anyone's experience and how long is it likely to go on?

For goodness sake, I was only on a taper from 22mg and had only been on Xanax for 2 weeks before that.

Please help

ok,  you had me worried there, bless!  the withdrawals do vary , but between 10 and 14 days is about right, at least the dr. can double check your ok, just going for a little work can sometimes help. take care,

The doc is coming tomorrow - he is telling me this is not normal when I know it is a symptom. I only took the Xanax for 10 days. My body is obviously very sensitive and quickly dependent

I do hope I have the strength to get through this - not sure what the doc can do.

I read somewhere symptoms peak between 10 and 14 days then it gets easier. I really hope that is so.

Call your doctor no matter what...You should be looked at today. I wish you well ...I know how rough this can get. The taper was really fast and I'm wondering how long you were taking that Xanax...

Have been having palpitations and panic attacks all day. Assumed it is all part of the withdrawal. If you don't think it is I will call a doctor straight away

This is exactly how i felt, though, i was addicted to opiods finally. However, i have used valiums also. I felt almost ok for first few days but things used to become horrible off and on. It is my 17th day and many times i felt as if things were becoming worse with time. Be determined and dont give in to drugs.Sooner or latter you will be free from all this.

unfortunately it does take a while, it was a fast taper, but after a while my doc put me on a fast taper, and it did stop it dragging on for too long, its a wierd withdrawal, in as much , it seems to stop and start sort of thing, so you will get better days, and then maybe a bad one, but it all does come to an end ,i promise you. take care.

Thanks for the reply

The doc put me on a valium taper  to get me off the Xanax from  22mg tapering by 2mg daily so the whole taper took 12 days.

It was probably too fast but I wasn't getting on very well with the valium anyway and was glad to be off it

However as long as these withdrawals will go eventually I will have to put up with them. I just didn't think it took this long

hi, unfortunately this is typical of a benzo withdrawal, if you jumped off at 22mg, that was really too high, or is that what you started on? its uaual to stop when your body gets comfortable with 2mg, it is a waiting game and patience the key word.the best thing to do ,is try to distract yourself, watch films, read ,try not to dwell on the withdrawals, you can take some valarien root, may help relax you, drink lots of water, and avoid spicy foods.
you will get there , god bless.
