Thank you for your input. Yes, I called my Doctor and told him that I wanted off the meds. I am going to stick close to Gods word & try to block out the enemy voices.
I believe it is within us to have the attitude we desire.. our minds are very powerful and if you go into wd with the attitude life ***** then surely it will.. You have to go in this knowing how you are going to feel and forcing yourself up and out in order to combat the wd and emotional stuff.. it is in everyone of us to change our attitudes.. I'm sure glad you decided to get clean as living life in a drug induced fog is such a lie.. we do not live we merely exist for our next fix.. maybe you can write down the things you are grateful for the things you want to change about yourself you would be surprised on what we can accomplish with our own thinking.. NA AA would be good as you do not need to speak just being there and listening and learning.. I hope you stay around and get support here also as you will find a lot of it and I do wish you well.. keep looking forward and not back ok.. lesa
Hi Epiphany,
Unfortunatey being moody is quite normal during the detox and withdrawal process. The initial withdrawal should only last between 4-7 days. Once you get past that point, you should start to feel better. Its great that you are recognizing how you feel and by posting, are talking about it. The hospital you mentioned does not sound like too much fun. Does your doctor know you are detoxing? Do you have a dfoctor that you trust. If so, that could be an option. There are some meds that can help for the worst part of the withdrawal, like Clonidine. That really helped for me. Keep posting. There are lots here who have been in your shoes who can help suport you.
sorry i am not familiar with that drug but if you have been taking it for a long time,
of course it is normal to be feeling that way.
the NA meetings will help you when you are up to going out. maybe you could just chat on line here till then. as far as going into a hospital, that is your call. making it so that you are totally unable to get your hands on anything is a good idea if you think you might cave. the important thing is to be thinking about the after. when the physical addiction part is done. dealing with the mental part so you will not go back. sometimes the worse the withdrawl time is, the better for not returning.
keep your head up. better days are ahead. congrats on your decision.
i have been clean of drugs for over 2 years now and it is great!!!
