My aunt is staying at my grandmas trying to sober up. She drinks a liter of vodka a day. She wants to quit but ever time she tries she gets really sick. She pucks gets cold then hot, last time she tried she had a seizure, and she refuses to see a doctor. She is afraid if she quits she is going to kill herself and ideas on how to help???? woild weining her off help? Maybe sleeping pills? Not sure any help would be great.

hi. get her to a detox or even an er. i've experienced about everything withdrawal has to offer, and aside from the medical risk, if it gets too unpleasant she might drink more for relief like i did a few times trying to do it myself. she needs to be somewhere that can provide medication and monitor things like vital signs. there is nothing non-prescription that will help the acute symptoms. please treat this as the potentially life-threatening condition that it is. ironpetal is right, she could die. best of luck,  gm

Sounds like she should be in a safe place like detox.  She sounds like she needs to be medically weaned off it because of alcoholic fits which can kill.

If she doesnt see a doctor then yes she could die thats the harsh truth.  Dont try to medicate her yourself. Phone AA up and some members will come to see her and then give adivce.
