My b/f is a night drinker he does realize he has a problem but ive asked him not to but he ends up doing it anyway......hes my youngest child's dad i worry about landon when hes older with the history of his dad and my family had a strong history of drinking thats why i dont. he drinks 3-4 gallons of vodka a month..... and has for years. Im actually breaking up with him this weekend after a 6 yr relationship. just cant handle his behavior and my kids come 1st. he does not get along with my 11 yr old son.  what does this much drinking do to someone just wondering.... wowage

i agree with the boogieman as usuall...be wise for u to go to al-anon...and so glad u r doing the healthy thing for u and ur children by leaving....what u describe is so detrimental to kids psyches....this man has got to want to get sober.....if he wants a family and any type of quality life!

hi there. if the person is alcoholic, their consumption will likely cause problems with legal, social, family and employment related situations. in addition there are health concerns such as liver disease, cancer, neurological damage, depression and anxiety. the problems caused are of greater importance than the amount or frequency of consumption. i would highly recommend the use of alanon to help you during this time. best wishes,  gm
