My IOP program tests for alcohol in a urinalysis test. Yesterday was the super bowl and I did get pretty drunk, but stopped drinking before 9pm, and drank alot of water before bed. I was tested at 11:11am the following day. Will it show up positive for alcohol?

I am ready for the consequences, but the waiting for test results is making me crazy.

Alcohol can be detected through a urinalysis 4 days after drinking.  Hope the consequences were not too bad for you.

If you have to do an IOP I suggest you make the most of it and take the information presented and use it to make better decisions. You were referred to an IOP for a reason, whether or not you believe you're an alcoholic!Sometimes the problem with a problem is that the person with it doesn't think its a problem, which indeed makes it a problem!A little tidbit to ponder!

okay, maybe so, but apparently You are expected not to have alcohol in Your IOP program

and it's my guess that You agreed,

otherwise, it would not matter if Your urine is positive for alcohol.  Is that correct?

Not everyone in an IOP program is an alcoholic.

if Your IOP program is not enough for You to commit ( EVEN IF superbowl - or any other excuse You can think of) well then, perhaps You need an in patient program instead of IOP.  The goal is to not drink, rather than are You going to pee 'dirty'

In my opinion You earned 'crazy' while You wait (maybe You won't do this again) and also in my opinion, if You have consequences it's probably a blessing to You.
