I get the wort hangovers, help!

I am a 22  year old female and for the past 2-3 years i always get THE WORST hangovers. I do already have severe anxiety and I do smoke cigarette. I drink maybe 2-3 times a week sometimes less.. and When i drink it can either be 2 glasses of wine OR a whole bottle or 2 with friends. My hangovers start like this. Wake up feeling sick/headache blah blah blah.. but then through out the day its like my body can't handle it. I get numbness in my face and hands and I start to panic because of it which makes it worse... but it usually goes away. then I get pains in chest and shortness of breath. but I've never been hospitalized for it. But yesterday I had the WORST one ever... felt fine when I woke up, then through out the day I couldn't breathe, got the tingles in face etc. and the only thing that seemed to help calm me down was cold water and hot water... weird i know. but today, the day after my hangover I've felt the same shortness of breath and a heaviness in head.. I still function normally and no one can tell but I physically feel like ****! I've had 2 day  hangovers but this one was scary.. idk does anyone else get this? do  you know what it is??? just confused and slightly scared. Even my aunt who smokes 2 packs a day and drinks heavily doesn't get hangovers and she's 50..

Hi,
I agree, alcohol is probably the cause here.
Drinking moderately or heavily can lead to anxiety disorders, and drinking can definitely exacerbate an already existing anxiety issue (I speak from personal experience). Trust me, drinking (or drugging) makes anxiety a lot worse and usually more frequent. As far as the numbness you're experiencing goes, drinking has a direct negative effect on our nerve fibers in our extremities (hands, feet, legs) because alcohol is a toxin. Over time drinking can wreak havoc with your nervous system causing panic attacks, memory lapses, and disorganized thought process just to name a few. Blood pressure also becomes problematic because drinking can raise the pressure to unhealthy levels. So when you couple together a bad hangover with any anxiety, the result can be a nasty psychological and physiological affect...
If you try to abstain or try to completely stop drinking, and the numbness continues, consider speaking with your doctor about other possible causes. Regarding your anxiety, consider therapy and other treatment options; your primary doctor can refer you to a therapist...
