Thank you. I'm not funny, I'm honest; and if funny is what it takes to get my point across, then funny it is.
Has anyone ever told you , you have a way with words?....Well said funny guy!!!
I agree with both ibizan and domino; DT's are nothing for the layperson to try and tackle on their own. If you are lucky they will kill you, if you are unlucky they will cause you severe brain damage. Detox should be supervised by a medical professional. That's why they are medical professionals. I'm not an M.D., most of us here aren't M.D.'s, if there is an M.D. in the house, please, speak up and end this nonsense. I dish out alot of advice, but I know where my limitations are. Shame on any of you who think you can give out medical advice that could kill someone or worse. You want to give me your opinion on the best way to change a tire? Fine. Whether or not I should throw spaghetti at my cupboard to see if it's done? Go for it. Who was better, Joe Montana or Steve Young? I'm in. Should Pete Rose be allowed in the hall of fame? Who cares. Where's Waldo? Whatever. But medical advice? Shut your pie hole. Unless you have a medical degree, you have no right, none, to dispense that sort of BS. This is a support forum for us poor souls who have the misfortune of being alcoholic but the courage to face our demons and quit. I know that me+alcohol=bad. If you're going to dispense advise at least try to know what you are talking about, even if all you do is google it. Otherwise, shut the hell up.
I agree with ibizan here. Self medicating got us here in the first place. Alcohol wd's are nothing to take lightly. They can be very dangerous. We also dont know other medical issues the person has. Our purpose here is to be emotionally supportive.
