hi. i guess i still pray the same as i did when i was still in detox. it's pretty simple, but i don't think the depth of my prayers are nearly as important as their presence. i give thanks for another day, ask for forgiveness for my wrongs, the knowledge of god's will and the power, willingness, strength and desire to carry it out. in addition i often ask for things specific to others and their well being, but never for myself. i try to do this as a minimum on a daily basis, and also use daily meditations from various recovery and non-recovery sources. so far it's been working for me. take care, gm

As for me,
I tr to thank my higher power for keeping me sober and I usually say the serenity prayer. I need it with children and an addiction. IT seems to help me cope with my children when my patience is running low. I will be honest, I do not get on my knees like the program says to do but I do try to think of what I can do for others and pray for their well being.
I guess my praying continues throughout the day, it isn;t just one moment in the morning or evening. Should it be?
how you do it isn't as important as whether you do it. actually, when i'm on top of things i'm usually in a continuous state of prayer or "awareness" as i call it. all of it takes practice. gm
I asked God to remove the obsession from me when I first cleaned up. I didn't know about anything else then I went to meetings and started doing the serenity prayer, now a few years later but 7 months clean I pray, meditate, serenity prayer and say the 3rd and 7 th step prayer. All in one!! I am truly blessed and loved by my HP
