Will he be able to give me a baby

Hi i have been with my partner for 4yrs i am 28yrs nad he is only 24yrs and we have been tryin for a baby for the past 3yrs i already have an 8yr old little girl from a previous relationship and my partner has none. He was an alcholic and has now started takin anti abuse for the past 4 months we have always put the fact that he was a drinker down to us not being able to concieve but now that he is recorvering and taking anti abuse do u think there would be any chance things could change and i could get pregnent or is there the chance that due to him being an alcholic for the past 5years that he might never b able to have children plzz plzz help me if u can .

Yes he see the addiction team every week and he is on anti abuse which you can not drink on as it can make u seriously ill he will be on anti abuse for at least a year and he is still in the early stages of his recovery he had tried to stop with out medication but relapsed a few times and the addiction team suggested anti abuse to him and we both descuside it and researched it and decided it was the right thing for him

Why is he on the meds now?  Does he have any type of recovery care?

              Being a alcoholic for most still can have children but the risk of the child being a alcoholic is high aa says it runs in parents genes but having children is not impossible my wife and I have two one is doing something all the time and the other says on her computer so have fun without alcohol.
