Yes a Better New Year to All!like my dad would say and i hear him all around me...have for 3 years....we have to keep moving 4ward.Sure missed him over these holidays but i hear him say ah Mary i'm so glad to be out of that sick broken body i had!Tjack i KNOW what ur going thru....i'll go see my mom today...her dementia is progressing....she told me not to come xmas day...no room at table and hung up on me.i told my family what happened but the nurses aide had a special plate of food for me and asked wheres Mary?I'll talk to her today!I celebrate new years like i have for quite a few years now....take a vacation day....do what i want and need without hopping to the work clock,call in carry out for my fav Cantonese foods....come home....feed the critters and me.....the sofa beckons with lots of afghans......i woke up last nite at 11:30..that is a first time in a long time i hadn't slept thru New Years!I was laffing at myself the other nite...bitter cold here and remembering how many holiday seasons in the past when i was a younger gal going out in this weather clubbing with high heels on mini-skirt lil lycra top and shortie jacket to get wasted!and drive in bad weather loaded!YIKES!so glad i never harmed anyone with my drunk driving....and feel at peace to be at home with my loving 4 legged family......yes like AA says we will come to KNOW and comprehend the word serenity!

hi there. ya it's been pretty quiet here today. glad to hear the meds are helping. i'm laying low myself at home---don't have any reason to be out on amateur night ;)  hope the new year brings us all the strength and courage we need---one day at a time. best wishes to everyone here on medhelp--i'm really grateful to have found all of you and this has been a big help for my sobriety and sanity. see you next year---gm

Well, Happy Healthy New Year to us All and God please bless us too!  This is my hope and prayer for us all.   Thinking of you all.  Home tonight.  No partying, probably be alseep my 10 unless some gun fire wakes us haha.  Usually that happens.
Been very busy with my hubby's Mom and Dad.  Neither is well.   You hear me Ibi, i know you do.  My hubby is having surgery next week, the lap band.  So he has been on protein drinks basically since the day after Christmas.  I need to get on them too.  I have turned into a junkfood junky.  Boogie, i have to say this pristique along with deplin is amazing.  I am so thankful.   I know i couldn't be dealing with my Mom and Dad in law and stayig calm without this help.  Think of you all so often.  Bandi, i want to be there with you in that sunshine!!   Hey, i got a subway sand today and thought of you.

Well i posted on here last night telling you all how great you are and the post didn't happen.  I needed my password blah blah blah.  So in the meantime the post was gone.  Dang it!  Anyway just to let you know i love all your posts.  So uplifting and informative.  Thanks boogie for the heads up on the anti depressant.  My insurance pays, thank the Lord or i would be saying nope put me on the effexor.Hope this post makes it.  Merry Christmas to you all.  Be back on in a few days.

I'm the Queen of Wean.  I've been on and weaned off so many different meds that well............... including Effexor and Pristiq.  
I'm off Cymbalta now. Very little withdrawel symptoms having done it slow.
Don't have any concerns  for yourselves with me as an example, it is just that any med with SRI action reacts poorly with my body.

Well you all sound good, even you Bandida, still fiery. Nice to meet you GM.  I always saw you on the thread and liked the boogieman name. I've read you give good guidance.

Hey IBi, Bobby Flay opened a new restaurant about 5 miles down the road from me. Bobby's Burger Palace is the name and it has a slew of original burger and shakes. I tell you this because, the shakes are made with Edy's ice cream. Ha, could ya die!!!

It's near the big mall here, so I am not touching it til after the New year.

My boy has a date tonight !!!  WooHoo!

I stay off the "Puter" on the weekends, just to clear my head.  If anyone would understand you guys would, its an addiction thing. It's just a rule I have for myself so I get other things done.  That's why you don't hear from me for the weekend.

  I made a similiar rule for video game playing. When I got sober I was sometimes in a panicked bored space, the biggest threat to my sobriety early on.. Video games filled that void, I'm talking serious 360, PS3, gaming. I  have a set time to play and that is it. I have to always be doing something. With the FM it is kind of hard to go and have a round of tennis.

The last gift arrived today. Everything is wrapped but that.
