back for more advice

Hi,I have been here before and you guys gave me good advice (which unfortunatley I wasn't able to follow up on) my problem remains the same, still drinking between 6-9 pints of beer every evening, have been drinking this amount for around 16 years. I live in Ireland where this amount is considered to be ok, (by the older generation) my problem is that when I speak to my doc he recomends prozac which I dont fancy taking. Can any of you guys tell me if I can get some herbal help or anything else, just to get over the first few nights. I used to take cocaine and ecastacy for 4-5 years but havent done so since my daughter was born 4 years ago. This is the reason I want to stay away from drugs. Any input would be great. Thanks.

I would ask doctor to put you on something non narcotic like I use something for my back Napoxan? I don't know if that will help with withdrawls but ask. but I know keep hydrated, eat calcium and magnesium, and just don't pick up when you feel better.Maybe try writing a letter to your self about the last 90 days of drinking and see in black and white what it is really like. Then when you feel like drinking again there you have it what it is really like All the best

hi. like i said before, alcohol detox can be dangerous business. i highly recommend using a physician to advise you on meds. diphenhydramine hcl can be used to help sleep, but for countering the state of shock that your nervous system may go into, otc meds probably won't do it. take care,  gm
