The vicious cycle come into play when someone drinks to feel better. When booze leaves our body our chemistry is changed to where a depression happens. This is where the cycle happens. We drink again to feel better and it not only feels better it feels much better than before because we are lifting the depressive effect of the alcohol and numbing the saddness we are drinking about.
Yes, it works, people have done it for centuries and people have gotten caught up in the vicious cycle for centuries too.
To break the cycle we need to make a choice. We need to choose something else to get our minds off of the **** we deal with.
Garbage will hit us all of our lives and if we drink to ease the difficulties of these trials in stead of doing something that would be a wiser choice like run our freakin butts off at a track or down our street. Another thing is play a video game (my choice) first person shooter is my favorite till the angst passes or its time to do something productive. Painting is a great outlet, knowing how to paint is not manditory. Shooting ranges are awesome for getting rid of stuff. How about reading, going into another world and getting out of your mind. Going to lunch with someone you enjoy and who gets you. Cook. Get the heck out and go do.
My point is there is a HUGE earth out there and there are more options than pouring liquid down our throats.
nice to see u here again and the 30 days is cool.....good suggestion here!
Ok I'm gonna try to give some advice...I've never done this! It does feel like it makes you feel better....but it doesn't...it just hurts you in the end. You have to want to stop and break that vicious cycle! You also need to have lots of support around you. I wanted to stop but my fiance didn't. Now we both have been sober for over 30 days and it feels great. Do you have any support around you?
