Your so young dpe, with a whole life ahead of you. I can guarantee you, if you continue to drink copious amounts daily, it will get worse, and sometimes very quickly. Even if it dosn't for you, the amounts your imbibing is doing long term health damage each day. Why not stay at home, don't drink and see how it goes. If you find you can't stay sober; keep all options open to healing.
Those street drinkers are no different than you or I except they never sought help in time. One did reach out. I met him at an AA meeting last year, he's now Manager of one of those homeless shelters he used to crawl into. What an inspiration it was to meet him. He gave many others listening hope. Why not pop along to an AA meeting, won't hurt and you may hear some similarities. Time to take care of yourself.
Find something that keeps you sober on those weekends. It's a great big world out there, and there's lots to do sober.
On those weekends when you used to party, you need to find a sober activity that you can enjoy. You can also do something productive, like going to the gym and taking better care of yourself.
Don't discount the idea of going to AA sometime.....at some point, you have to try doing WHATEVER it takes to get yourself sober and clean. If you don't, there's a heavy price to pay later.
The point I am making is that you will get to the stage where you will do anything to get drink, I never believed I would be reduced to stealing for drink but I was and what was worse was that I did not see anything wrong with this at the time. Do you think the homeless people you see living on the streets ever thought they would end up like that.
In the past year five people who were in rehab with me have died as a direct result of Alcoholism, that is the reality of this disease....

Gotta get honest with yourself here. Staying home more isnt going to solve this. I didnt think i would do some of things i did either but i did. Alcoholism is bigger than we are and we cant do it alone. If you are adamant about not going to AA then check out an addiction specialist or something like that. You have to face those demons you are running from........sara
i dont have to steal, thats why I'm staying at home more. True, I agree with everything else
you should stop drinking before you end up being reduced to stealing again. Alcoholism is a progressive illness and nothing to laugh at. people have lost everything because of drinking and they will all tell you that they never taught it would happen to them. you are well on the way to this and just because you dont get blackouts yet dont mean you wont.
Get smart, Get some help......
