question about back pain

Im a 25 yr old male 165lbs. I had my first drink at 14 but didnt start drinking heavily until I was 20. I consider myself a casual drinker. I drink 2 to 3 times a week, mostly 10 to 20 drinks a night on friday and saturday nights and maybe 6-8 or so drinks on a wed nights. Stopped drinking hard liquor years ago. mostly just beer. Im not a smoker but I do smoke ciggerettes when I drink.  weekends were usually spent sleeping nursing hangovers. Im fine during the week. All was fun and good, but about a year ago I started noticing the morning after going out, dull pains in my lower back. I suspected it was my liver or kidneys and maybe I just hit it too hard the night before(although I never really changed my habits). Pain usually went away after a day or 2 at first but now its been a week without a drop and pain is still there? had blood work done and everything was normal. what gives?

Hey, so you aren't a 'smoker' but you smoke when you drink, considering the amount you drink, if you aren't getting those nicotine cravings during the week now, ya will soon!

By the way, hmmm I smoke and  I drink, why do things hurt?? I don't know...maybe cuz the drugs!!!! how bout that! Please I know that the alcohol rots your brain but that is still not an excuse, please use it its there for a reason.

Sorry but you need to take a few sips of reality, not beer.
I hope you get some help...Best of luck

Umm Hmm. Where shall I start with you my man. How 'bout comparisons. I was 165 at 25 as well. My Marine Corps weight I call it now. First drink ? 12 years old. Drinking heavy ? 20 years old. 10 or 20 or more. Before that ? I dunno ... enough to get wasted. Which, by the way, is not lightly. 2 to 3 nights a week ? Yeah, I got wasted at least that many times. The other days was just a six pack or so. How 'bout you ? Do you consider those off days, off days ? How 'bout drugs ? Like smoking pot ? I did. I used drugs though my teenage years. All of 'em. Of course I drank too. Only enough to get me going though. Hardly enough to consider myself a problem drinker. Not me. I was a social or "casual" drinker. Come to think of it, a casual drug user too. After 20 ? Yep, still a social drinker. After all, I took days off !! Like you, I stopped "Hard Liquor" too.  Mostly.  I mean, if I don't drink "Hard Liquor" to get bombed and use beer instead, then that means I quit hard liquor. Correct ? Same thing with smoking, right ?  If you don't smoke everyday then you're not a smoker. -- MAN, you got this down to a tee !! How convenient !! Making the rules as you go is great, isn't it ?  Here's a little hint for ya !! Casual or social drinkers don't nurse hangovers every weekend. Don't feel bad, I was clueless to. If I'm coming across as a sarcastic smart azz I'm not sorry. I only wish someone took the time to be a wise cracking smart azz with me. Could have saved a lot of heartache and pain, but I doubt it. I knew everything. Everything but that I was a stoned cold alcoholic at 12 years old. I still am. I'm just currently sober. ...and no, by that I don't mean once a week or month. I quit for real, not make believe. I go to AA too. Took me until 8 months ago to figure that one out. That it would help KEEP me sober. -- Here's the thing. -- You're an alcoholic, and you have one of the biggest cases of denial I've ever come across. Besides myself that is.--
To the reason you posted. Back pain. I have chronic back pain too. Didja know that smoking and drinking is terrible for your entire body, including your back ? Its true. Causes Degenerative disc disease among other things. At least that's what all 3 of my back surgeons said. ...but what do they know !! It very well could be your kidneys or liver... maybe all three. Tests aren't always conclusive and its hard to tell just how much damage has been done.
Smart talk aside, I think that you have got some evaluating to do. Your 25 and in your prime. Want to keep it that way or become a broken down, day to day year to year waste of spirit with nothing to show but emotional and physical scars ? I pray you choose the right path and live the life that you were intended to have.  I wish you the best my friend. You'll be in my prayers. Godspeed and Good luck. ... Burrpatch
