If you decide to keep trying to have a baby despite what Dominosarah said then atleast get him to a doctor first for a blood test and a complete physical. His heath may not be very well since he has been drinking liquor for so long. Whisky is very hard on the body particularly on the liver. He may have cirrhosis of the liver and not  even know it. Most cirrhotic patients don't show any symptoms of cirrhosis until they have reach the end stage.

I would really rethink your plan about adding a baby to the mix until your husband has stopped drinking and is getting recovery care.  While babies are a blessing the drinking situation will usually escalate with the added pressure.  I hope your husband will come to the decision to stop this insanity~~~~sara
