when you meet someone you really like

and you notice they drink too much it's so hard to feel special..you want to feel like your number one in their life and your not..it's easy to see them sneak a drink here and there..of course they think their cool about it and want to believe you don't notice...i guess you just have to shut things off early on....kill the relationship...what a drag..drinking can be such a  boring lifestyle when every night its the same old thing......billy

its been 5 years since i split w/my ex who relapsed and thought i loved him so much i'd stay and put up w/his crap......i stayed w/him a year which was TOO LONG!oh there are times when i could kick myself for putting up w/what i did.....i was hoping he'd see what a good thing WE could be........but it usually don't work that way....ain't that simple......i knew what a risk he was and said it was worth it...he wasn't but i sure as H learned a lot........u wise billy to cut ur losses early...but in all truth its a gain for ur saving urself a broken heart!hope ur holidays w/ur dogs kids and grandkids were joyous!:)

Great of you to take notice early on. You could have denied the symptoms for 3-30yrs had children, lost your home, friends and associates. We know there is no way to change others. Sorry.
