You don't say how long you were on it, but no, it won't. Make sure whoever helps you taper off the Ativan if you've been taking it daily for a long time knows you're an individual, not someone else, and does the taper as slowly as suits you until you've successfully gotten off of it. Also, high blood pressure can be caused by stress though it can also be caused by diet, lack of exercise and other lifestyle choices, genetic problems, etc. But stress doesn't help any. That's not an invitation to stay on the Ativan, it works for such a short time period it's not really the first choice for high blood pressure. Most people get it because of diet and lifestyle choices. But as for your main question, you will have to taper off of it slowly and that's the main protection for you, doing it right in the first place.
