Problems started 2 1/2 weeks after gallbladder removal (January 2014). I have this constant suffocation feeling everyday that seems to calm down when I go to sleep at night. My head feels like it's in a fog (at times), sometimes feel I'm breathing in very cold air which results in a soreness feeling in the throat. Sometimes I get tightness in the upper abdomen, tightness in the sternum. The breathing issue is the biggest thing. I'm 55 years old and never had a problem with anxiety until after the surgery. Pulmonologist's testing shows everything is normal, Echocardiogram shows no heart or artery problems. My doctor is having me see a cardiologist for further consultation and probably more testing...just to be sure. I suspect she thinks I got hit with a major anxiety attack, I believe the pulmonologist thinks the same thing. I'm seeing a counsellor early May.
