Yeah, I've got it, but the term is used for varying degrees of severity. Therapy is the main recommendation for any mental illness, but if your life is so debilitated you can't function, then often medication becomes helpful so you're willing to do what therapists want you to. Neither is guaranteed to work, so you're beginning an adventure that might have many twists and turns. I would see a psychologist if you can get out to do it, and the therapist will help you determine if medication is necessary, in which case you need to see a psychiatrist as well.
