Is this really just anxiety?

Hi,
My symptoms have gotten to a point where I just need to discuss them and see what people think. I'll start off by saying I'm a 27 year old reasonably healthy individual (about 5'10, 140lbs). I am a smoker but have been recently trying to cut back. I had been smoking between 8-12 cigarettes a day and I have been down to 3 a day for the last couple of days. Anyways, on to the symptoms I've been feeling latley. About 4 days ago I was out for lunch with some coworkers and was watching a TV that was above me. When I turned my head back down to continue conversation I experienced a sudden intense rush of dizziness. I wouldn't say everything was spinning but it felt like I was on a boat or had just stepped off of a boat. Since then my head has felt foggy and I have been feeling offbalance all day. Sometimes my vision has trouble focusing and I feel sick to my stomach. Almost like I'm really hungover but I haven't drank any alcohol for weeks. I tried going out with some friends last night for dinner and had to leave early because I felt so terrible. Weak, dizzy, nauseous, lathargic (spelling?), trouble maintaining conversation. Just not like myself. I've been reading up on what it could be and a leading candidate is anxiety but, cmon, anxiety can make me feel so terrible!? I don't even feel very stressed out. Maybe its subconscious? I know I beat myself up for smoking cigarettes because I used to be a high achieving athelete and wish I could get back to feeling like I did when I was.
I'm starting to feel pretty hopeless about this. I have no idea what could be causing this and if it is anxiety I have no idea how to get rid of it because trying to calm down may help for short period of time but these feelings are never really gone. Anyone have any ideas or advice? Thanks
.

Before I saw a chiropractor I'd see a doctor -- you could have an ear infection or too much ear wax or anything at all that was exacerbated by your movement.  Get a diagnosis first, then you can decide how to treat it.

Yes, anxiety can cause all the symptoms you are having. But, so can a pinched nerve in your neck. I suggest seeing a good chiropractor, the fact that moving your head down from looking up made you dizzy, tells me it is "pinched nerve" related.
