Alcohol and Tyramine

I have noticed that I often have anxiety after I drink beer. I read somewhere that this is most likely due to high tyramine content in the beer. I also have this problem when drinking red wine and to a lesser degree white wine. I noticed that vodka does not affect me in this way and have read that it is low in tyramine.

What other alcoholic beverages are low in tyramine? Is Cider low in tyramine?

My understanding was that tyramine was only a problem in this way if you're on an MAO inhibitor.  Lots of foods have high tyramine content, including almost all fermented foods -- including vodka, most cheese, cultured vegetables, etc.  What you might be experiencing, well, it could be anything, but since alcohol is disorienting, people prone to anxiety will feel anxious sometimes when they get disoriented.  So I would ask, do you eat aged cheese, or fermented foods, and if they don't bother you, it's probably not the tyramine.
