Anxiety or need to test further?

Hi there, I appreciate your help..

I am 26 and just had a neurological evaluation in which the doctor recommeded a Lumbar Puncture.  I have had various strange symptoms for around 2 years...but have been told they are Migraine or Anxiety related.  These are my symptoms as follows and are in order of when they first appeared

1st symptom was..
Tinnitus
followed by

Elecrtical shock like headaches and floaters
Constant worry
fear of disease
Sharp and quick chest pains
Crawling and buzzing skin all over body(legs, back, head)
Feeling that tounge is heavy
Feeling of lump in throat
Dizziness
Flashing lights
Flickering lights

and most recently which is scaring me is pain in feet and legs like a burning tingling feeling and weak arms and legs...

I am wondering if I should follow up with the Lumbar Pucture or MRI/CT or what other tests I should have done...

I also have a history of Worry and Anxiety and also alcohol/drug abuse...

So can this be anxiety??
Thankyou

Hi Mate, im from Australia and have had anxiety stuff for years.

Symptoms i get are Gastro reflux, dizziness, obsessed over whether im breathing properly, a lump or it feels like hair or something is stuck in my throat, "rush" sensations, feeling of fear when in public, avoidance and rasp or throat constriction. I to have been a major worrier, as were my parents which is where i think this originates, also been scared i might get cancer, and other stuff.

I do have reflux but think that this is anxiety related. What im trying to say is, there are many and varied symptoms both mentally and physically... it takes therapy, compassion and understanding and a bit of distraction, be your own guide... imagine the small child in you feeling upset and tell that child as you the adult that they will be ok.. Feel free to talk more, been trying to get through this since 94.

YES I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS OF SYMTOMS COMING AND GOING. DOCTOR SAYS SOMETIMES WE HAVE ANXIETY DENIAL SO WE TRY TO BLAME THE ACHES AND PAINS OR DISCOMFORT ON SOMETHING ELSE. I HAVE DAYS WHEN I FEEL I HAVE NO ANXIETY OR ANXIOUSNESS AND I STILL GET THE SYMPTOMS IT IS OUR BODY TENSING UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. U CAN ALSO TRY MUSCLE RELAXATION OR MASSAGE THERAPY THAT ALSO HELPS AND ESPECIALLY YOGA WILL DO U GOOD

I have a lot of your symptoms and they all come and go. I would say they are caused by anxiety as your symptoms are common anxiety symptoms.  I think if you had something serious then the symptoms would'nt come and go, but just get worse. Some days i'm symptom free.

Thanks for your response....Can these symptoms occur without any apparent cause??  Sometimes I just wake up and one or more symptoms are more intense.  It seems like nothing specific provokes this.

SOUNDS LIKE U HAVE HAVE ALL THE SYMPTOMS I HAVE WHICH LEADS TO ANXIETY. BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND U SEE A PSYCHIATRIST THEN UR  DOCTOR BECAUSE THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO FIND OUT WHY U HAVE THIS ANXIETY AND ALSO IF U HAVE AND CONCERNS ABOUT UR HEALTH THEY WILL SEND U FOR TESTING TO PUT UR MIND AT EASE

another thing I might add is that these symptoms come and go but the ones that are most notable and remain constant are tinnitus and the crawling skin...
I had a normal eye exam a few months ago along with the neuro exam
Who should I trust and what tests should I do????
