Anxiety over being sick/being around others who are sick?

Hi everyone,
I've never really talked about my anxiety with anyone before because I know they wouldn't understand, but I'm hoping someone hear will haha.  
Does anyone else have a fear of being sick or sick people?  I get made fun of by my friends all the time because I won't talk to anyone when they are sick, and I laugh along with them, but they don't understand that I'm really terrified of being sick.  I won't eat before classes, meetings, etc. because i'm scared I'll get sick and after everything I eat I'm scared of getting food poisoning.  I realize this is irrational but I can't help it.  I used to have panic attacks because I thought I was going to get sick...Does this happen to anyone else, and if so, how do you cope??

New to this site. I know your post is a couple years old. Has it improved at all?  I have anxiety over sick people and them getting me sick..  When I get sick I stay away from people and try not to go out where I will expose others.. Even in my own house I spray my own lysol around and use hand sanitizer.  I don't understand why others don't give me the same courtesy.  Some people don't even cover their mouths..and some people use their hands to cough or sneeze in and then they touch things that other people would touch.  I know germs are everywhere, but I think people can try harder not to expose others.

Anxiety can manifest itself in many ways.  If that is what you are afraid of then that is how it is manifested itself in you in my opinion.  Do you have access to talk therapy to address this?
