Anxiety that causes Nausea?

I have been struggling with chronic nausea for over 2 years and the last time I was at the doctor they asked if I had any anxiety or depression. At first my thought was no...but then I began to think back and realize I have a fear of food (because I always get nauseous) and when I am stressed about something my symptoms always get ten times worse. My doctor said I could have anxiety that is in my subconscious and causing gut symptoms and nausea. Is anyone else struggling with possibly the same thing? Does anything make this better? I have never thought of myself as an anxious person until now and now I dont know what to do to make something I dont always "feel" go away. I would love to hear what other people have tried and has worked. Did anyone find it helpful to see a therapist? If so why or why not?

I dont know if they have tested my beneficial microbial organisms but I have had a lot of testing done so it is possible. No I was not on any high doses of antibiotics before this happened but what I did have happen was my gallbladder wasnt working and for a month and half I was extremely sick before they figured that out. I do take a probiotic one that has digestive enzymes in it and has 50 billion bacteria. Yes my doctors have said they cant figure out why I am nauseated and have chalked it up to IBS or supressed anxiety which I feel is a cop out.

It remains my belief that anxious people feel anxious, have irrational fears that interfere with their lives, and if you don't have that emotional component you probably just have something that is hard to diagnose.  Has anyone tested your beneficial microbial organisms?  Were you on multiple or heavy doses of antibiotics before this happened?  Have you ever tried to take a probiotic supplement -- a good one found in the refrigerator of your best local health food store or a prescription one -- that is heavy in bifido bacteria?
