Thanx for the comment, i have spoken to my doctor about it and yes he said its all in my head also, lol!! But my therapist said it is due to stress and to try mindfulness. Its good to hear i'm not alone x
Ah, the old "brick in the head" feeling. Very common and I wish I could tell you what causes it. There may be someone here on the forum who knows why or has some valid ideas. I've "suffered" with it for about 30+ years and so far, I'm still winning. Sometimes, as you say, the feeling is barely noticeable and the anxiety level remains low, but when it gets really bad, my anxiety shoots through the roof. It is a VERY unpleasant feeling and it's all I can focus on. I've discussed this with my neuro a few times and he thinks it's all in my head................DOH!
But, he also apparently doesn't think it's anything to be alarmed about, so I've just tried very hard to learn to live with it as part of my panic.
I have found that if I go outside, especially if the weather is a little cold, it helps for some reason. Maybe it's just the fresh air, maybe it's the little bit of exercise.........maybe I'm focusing on something besides my freaking "balloon head," but whatever it is, it relieves it for quite awhile.
If you are having any UNUSUAL pain with this feeling, (and I don't mean the pain of, say, a mild tension headache) visual problems, any drooping of the mouth or eyelids or problems with your speech, then I suggest you see your doctor as soon as possible.
The next time you see your doctor, be sure to have a good discussion of this.
Peace
