Anxiety

Hi,
I'm a 22 y/o male.i have been suffering from anxiety for the last two years.its usually mild but gets pretty severe sometimes.I also have episodes of depression, feeling lonely and sad for no apparent reason.but over the last two weeks I've started to have these really weird irritating sensations in my arms and neck area.it starts off like a restlessness in the arms.it forces me too keep my arm and fingers moving.it's usually the right arm..also I notice my clothes start irritating me.like I keep moving my tshirt to avoid this irritation or itchy feeling around my neck.sometimes even the rights side of  the face gets irritated.and it causes severe panic and more anxiety because don't know what's going on.the irritation usually lasts quite long.sometimes I just want to jump out of my seat or bed because of this irritation and restlessness.ive heard that it can b because of dryness.but the restlessness really makes me crazy.I also had tingling in my legs at the beginning.but that went away by itself.now my question is whether this is anxiety or
Something else because it is really making me feel very uncomfortable.infact its fuelling depression.I'm even avoiding public places because I fear if it happens in public I might freak out and do something embarrassing.now I should tell u that I'm going through quite a lot of stress at the moment so maybe it's the anxiety that's causing it.I don't know.whatever it is it's making me crazy.I have ibs so I took librax (1 pill a day for 3 weeks which is pretty mild dosage think!!)I didn't complete the full course because I got scared of the withdrawal symptoms.I only took it for three to four days.the stomach is fine but this tingling, restlessness or itching in arms and neck( sometimes even the reproductive organ) make me crazy.I even want chop my hand off sometimes it gets so irritating.plz help me as life is pretty miserable these days.I personally think it's anxiety because it seems to be related with the panic attacks or maybe it's the other way round.the anxiety is pretty bad because over the last two years I can't even travel.it's not that I fear flying or something.it's just that whenever I'm away from home I feel that I might suffer panic attacks and wont b able to do much because I'm in public or cause embarrassment.so plz someone help me.I'll b willing to give more details

Well.... It's not the stomach I'm worried about.it's the agitation, itchy feeling that's really bothering me!I

I wanted to take medicine for this but the other day I had this attack where my neck really started to feel itchy and I actually wanted to bite my tongue.that lasted for only 15,20 seconds but it was very scary.....when I googled all this I ended up with this thing 'akathisia'but it also said that it is mainly induced from drugs such as SSRI,antipsychotic meds.I haven't taken any of that.only librax and that too for just 4 days.

Now am I freaking out because of anxiety or is it really akathisia?although librax does have a portion of benzodiazepine in it.but can it really cause akathisia after just four days use?and if it is akathisia, how long will it last?

Just so you know...IBS causes anxiety and anxiety causes IBS...I have both.

You do need to control the anxiety to relieve the IBS.
The symptoms will not go away by ignoring them...sorry.

You need to find the root cause...which is sometimes very difficult...in order to "cure" the anxiety.

You could try a special diet for the IBS which would help the stomach issues.
I find that stress ( which is hard to avoid ) and any "roughage" type foods aggrivate my IBS.

If you smoke, you need to tackle that as well...just makes things worse...trust me...I have that bad habit.

A good doctor will lead you down the right path to recovery.

No I haven't actually!probably because all the symptoms before this were related to my stomach and ibs and stuff.I thought if I would treat my stomach maybe the anxiety would also go away.but I guess it's the other way round!treating anxiety would probably relieve all these other horrible things.but things like hyperventilation and this muscle twitching is really bothersome.I just hope that they are like most of the other symptoms I.e. If u ignore them they probably will go away themselves.

Yes that is definitely ALL ANXIETY, Im not a doctor but I think that our body goes through such hich adrenaline rushes that it starts manifesting itself. All those things you mentioned are symptoms of anxiety. I myself get itchy and my muscles start twitching,my stomach has been acting different also. And then the famous is it in my head or is this real comes in to play!!! Have you ever seen a psychologist for this?
