And I'd also like to add, try to get back to work if you can. Isolating yourself is very common with depression and anxiety, it's happened to me since I stopped working, so try to keep going if you can. Best of luck to you.
Also, did you recently go on or off any medications, including antibiotics or steroidal meds, or do any new type of birth control? Lots of questions we can't answer from your post.
Just a question -- is this the first time you've felt such anxiety? That makes a big difference in what it might be -- if it's an old problem that hasn't been treated either in therapy or any other way, okay, but if this just happened, then you might want to figure out if something else might have happened to bring it on, and you would want a very thorough exam to see if something physiological is going on, because if it is, antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs won't fix it. For example, if this was sudden, did you get your thyroid thoroughly checked (meaning not just TSh), your blood sugar, did you recently go through something traumatic? Because if, as you say, you were working and doing fine and then suddenly you were home in bed with anxiety, that could be anything.
That you have been bedridden for three weeks due to anxiety/panic is very close to being an emergency situation. You ABSOLUTELY MUST see the doctor who prescribed these medications for you AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Have someone drive you to and from this appointment.
If you were afraid of taking this medication, you should have discussed that with the doctor. Procrastinating the start of treatment, then not being compliant with the dosage prescribed is no doubt part of the reason you are in this situation. Many of us can understand your fear, but now you must take steps to fix this with the help of your doctor! Please make that phone call as soon as possible.
